  7. Please take noted ........... [sunny] SINGAPORE: There will be temporary changes to the parking and pick-up arrangements at Changi Airport's Terminal 1 (T1) from 2am on Friday (Oct 17) to 2am on Tuesday (Oct 21). These arrangements are part of a dry run in preparation of the closure of the T1 open-air car park in the last quarter of 2014. The Changi Airport Group announced the following changes on Tuesday (Oct 14) in a media release: During this four-day period, the open-air car park fronting T1 will be temporarily closed and relocated to Terminal 2 (T2). The T1 Arrival pick-up point will be moved to a new location outside the T1 Arrival Hall. 9. ST Forum May 31, 2011 Chiam on closure of void-deck office LAST Saturday's report ('All MPs can now rent void deck space') mentioned that I closed the office I built in 1985 at Block 108, Potong Pasir Avenue 1 for the Meet-the-People sessions (MPS). This is untrue. The office was actually built by the HDB and not by me. In 1992, the HDB swiftly demolished my MP's office within a day. This occurred a year after my former party (Singapore Democratic Party) won three seats in Parliament. I was then forced to use the void deck, and this was where I conducted my MPS. The premises had no toilet facilities and it was only in the last few years, through frugal savings by the Potong Pasir Town Council, that a toilet was built in that same void deck. Chiam See Tong FORUM NOTE: The writer was the MP for Potong Pasir from 1984 to 2011.
  10. I saw a sign saying this stretch of road will be closed during the weekend till Monday morning. Anyone knows when the road would reopen? I think this would cause a big jam tomorrow morning. I live in this area and I would be affected.
  11. Do you think recently there are too many road closure. Even on a weekend, yet congestion and delays do occurs no matter how early the reminder has been put up.
  12. Why is public roads closed this Sunday 14-Mar-10 for celebrating an event that has nothing to do with Singapore? http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/S...ory_501295.html Don't understand how the authorities here permit this kind of event to happen. Strange.
  13. My complain to LTA... hee hee... happy reading ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I would like to make known my disgrunt at the traffic situation this morning along Upper Serangoon Road (towards Woodsville Flyover before the ERP gantry Bendemeer Road). I set off early as usual so to avoid the rush hour jam and avoid ERP charges at the said gantry (I believe most motorist on the road at that point of time is like-minded with me). The moment we hit the stretch of road near Woodleigh MRT station, traffic start to come to a crawl. The usual 3 mins drive from that point to the ERP gantry became a 15 mins drive. Why? It was because 1 lane along Upper Serangoon Road (after Poton Pasir MRT) was closed. There were LTA cones placed along that road but no road diversion signs. Adding insult to injury, there wasn't a single worker on the closed road... ain't the lane closure supposed to mean so form of road works was supposed to be carried out? I would have taken a photo if I could. Perhaps you can go take a look now... mostly likely still no workers there. The clock showed 730am and the 4-lane road became 2 lanes, coz 1 lane was closed for god-know reasons and 1 lane became the bus lane. Due to the congestion, motorist like me who set off ealry ended up paying the ERP charges. So, is the LTA (or rather the main contractor) going to reimburse us the ERP charges? Most likely not right? But for courtesy sake, at least post the lane closure situation on one.motoring.com's traffic news. So that motorist can choose an alternate route.
