  1. With the current Subaru Forester (launched in Q1 2013), 2 years old and the most popular Subaru car in 2014, I'm surprised that I can't even find a thread on it, so I'm starting one here. Are there any recent buyers who would like to share their views or recent purchasing experiences? http://www.sgcarmart.com/news/article.php?AID=12527 Motor Image Enterprises, the exclusive distributor of Subaru in the region, announced that Subaru vehicle sales in Singapore grew by 210 percent in 2014 (January 2014 - December 2014), jumping from 201 units in 2013, to 623 units in 2014. The award-winning Subaru Forester, which was launched in the first quarter of 2013, is the highest-selling Subaru vehicle in Singapore. Growth was also experienced across various markets with Taiwan and Malaysia experiencing a 44 percent and 24 percent increase in sales in 2014 (January 2014 - December 2014) respectively. At the same time, Consumer Reports, an independent organisation that publishes reviews and comparisons of consumer products, announced that Subaru won the Consumer Reports Top Picks of 2015 in three categories. In addition, Subaru was ranked 5th overall in the automotive brand ranking. The Subaru vehicles that won the Top Picks of 2015 are as follows: Compact car: Subaru Impreza Mid-sized sedan: Subaru Legacy Small SUV: Subaru Forester

  3. Any Nissan Serena owners here? Can't find any reviews locally and don't think I've seen any on our roads though I think a few of this has already been delivered to their new owners. There's 2 versions. The Comfort version is more affordable with manual sliding doors and original fabric seats. The Highway Star version comes with body kit, power sliding doors and locally fitted leather seats. Interesting flexible seat configurations between 7-8 seaters. So far no other locally available MPV has it according to my knowledge. However, the center seat in the second row may not be comfortable. This is the Highway Star version
  4. Seems like no one start a thread for this new car As per title, anyone test drive this car. Especially SW model, the interior look so futuristic and modern. Finally it come with a proper 6 spd auto. This is one of the car I shortlisted for replacement in 1yr+ time. Any comments.. http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/newcars_overview.php?CarCode=11662
  5. Nice? wait until u see his abang (Genesis 2015) When the Genesis will reach our shore?
  6. Hi all! Seeing as it has been a few months since the brand new Mazda 2 has been launched in Singapore and many have been collecting their new cars recently, those who have been driving for awhile or brand new owners can check in here! Feel free to share experiences driving or any upgrades you might be interested in doing or have already done, i'm pretty sure we'll see many new Mazda 2s zoom-zooming around Singapore soon!
  7. Source : http://www.carscoops.com/2014/07/2015-subaru-wrx-sti-is-most-technically.html 2015 Subaru WRX STI is "The Most Technically Specialized Car" for Under $40,000 Think of a car that provides more performance and capability in one single fairly-affordable package than the Subaru WRX STI. In Europe, there may be some alternatives, but for US buyers it really is the most technically specialized car for under $40,000, as CNET’s Brian Cooley points out in this review. Its interior is still about a decade behind the competition, but then again this could be thought of as a character-building feature of the car, and not a true negative point – it will feel quite dingy if you’ve just stepped out of a luxury limo, but otherwise you should be able to live with it. Buying and driving one of these is worth it for the experience of having so much control and grip within easy reach, with handling limits that can be gently and progressively approached. Subarueven went ahead and ignored the electric power steering trend and gave the STI a proper hydraulic rack – that alone should make some enthusiasts really happy… By Andrei Nedelea
  8. Just revealed in Los Angeles. Enjoy these pics. Likely combi of 1.5 and 2.0 Skyactiv engines + Skyactive Drive transmission. Should make it here by 2015.
  9. How will be the response of this japan made 2.5L all wheel drive compared to accord teana or Camry? Car built is solid with reasonable comfort level and great rear leg room. Tinge of luxury: Sunroof, 7" touchscreen LCD with reverse cam, 12 Harman speakers, good interior soundproofing, 7 airbags etc. With $18,000 omv and sub $140,000 selling price, AD is making over $30,000 per car at current $70,000 COE.
  10. Very sleek and spacious with nice interior ......will sell well if it's as reliable (ahem2 DSG)
  11. Does anyone know if there should be a splash cover for the undercarriage of the engine/gear box area?
  12. Just revealed at the Thai Auto Show. A Mazda 2 with a boot; A mini 3; likely will be made in Thailand. Set to take on the Toyota Vios. Honda City, Nissan Almera. Seems like the engine at launch is the SkyActiv-D 1.5 (aka Diesel); unsure if the 1.5 SkyActiv-G will be made available but I guess it has to be if it were to sell in greater quantities in SG. Transmission likely same as the 2 Hatch, which means it will likely be the 6 speed SkyActiv Drive transmission with Sports mode. Those in the market for a car in this segment, stay tuned.
  13. Hi all, I lost my original SD card for my Nissan QashQai in car camera, I then insert another new SD card but it cannot work. Anybody know why? Or actually, it needs certain software? Please advise.

  17. Looks like Premium has quietly brought the facelifted Audi A1 Sportback in. Anyone looked at it, or found out what its equipped with? Currently only one engine option listed; 1.0L TFSI. Could be really economical! Promotional pricing now only $117k, which is remarkable for an Audi. Pricelist is $137k.
  18. Its supposed to launch in Q3'15. Checked Champions Motor web but no info. Anyone has info a more accurate month/date ?
  19. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2DiV26-jqs Incidents leading up to the Marquez crash.... MUST WATCH VIDEO: https://www.facebook.com/revistapuromotor/videos/10154282430726679/?pnref=story
  20. http://www.hyundai.com/sg/en/Showroom/Passenger/Genesis-2014/PIP/index.html Called my previous se who confirmed they will bring in this ride soon. But likely 3.8cc version. Priced close to BMW 520i. In the us, the base 3.8cc is priced like 10k usd off BMW535 if I am not mistaken. It's a large car. Close to BMW 7 series, s class but selling at base BMW 5 series. In Korea, there r 4 variations. 3000cc, 3300cc, 3800cc, 5000cc.... Road tax of 3800cc looks to be a killer at avg 1.8k per half yr. hee. I think Singapore Hyundai should bring in the base 3000cc or 3300cc for our roads and nshw ride. More than decent horses already.... I am determined to have a look at this ride. It's looks freaking awesome on youtubes and have garnered super reviews in the us so far.

  23. Hi All, I admit that I am attracted by Jetta because it is a Europe car and the current offered price is very attractive too. it is spacious and the boot is huge. However, when I went through all the threads, it seems it got a terrible history. I have a few questions: 1) the 7 speed gear box- when I checked with the sales, he told me it is not an issue any more for those 2015 Jetta. How likely I can trust him? he told me the sales figure is good this year. 2) Currently WV only offers 3 years warranty for the gear box now. After the warranty, the sales told me it is about 2K+ to replace it. If I want to keep this car after 3 years, Do I have to budget this 2K+ every year based on the information given by some brothers in this forum. 3) Besides this gear box issue, Is there any other main issue for this model? The sales kept telling me that I don't need to worry about it any more since WV has fixed it for the year 2015 model. if it is still a concern to me, he suggested me that I can sell it just before end of the 3rd years. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks, Ken

    Mooncakes

Mid-Autumn festival or mooncake festival is just around the corner on Sept 27th. Do you guys have any specific brands to recommend or go for? The number of brands is overwhelming. Traditional , snowskin, exotic, anything... Personally prefer the not-so-sweet types. I am fine if this thread is subsumed under that for previous years for simplicity.
  25. According to the BM SE, the FL 2015 Asian Camry is coming in about Jun this year. Saw the Thai version brochure below: http://www.toyota.co.th/models/camry/pdf/camry_brochure_2015.pdf The 2.0L has a new VVTI-W engine with 6 speed GB. Although the design of the Asian camry still not so sporty like the US version but I think this new FL looks good!
