  1. Hi all, I'm a newbie here first time buying car. Im interested at elantra, avante, vios and shuttle. What's the reasonable price for the cars and how much depre to look at? My wife prefer PARF Car but yet to view any yet. Im OK with COE car. But now COE damn high, Used Car also follow COE price.
  2. This thread will focus on the upcoming facelift model 2019 Elantra [update on 26 Jun 2018] [update on 12 Jul 2018] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_3Q1YmUX6E
  3. Is all new model. So I create a new thread for everyone to comment and discuss. If COE drop below $20k(although very unlikely). Will this become best selling model again?
  4. Hi all I am on Elantra AD 2018, and have had Nakamichi NBF618S sub, JBL speakers (front 2 only; back 2 is stock) for 2-3 years. Yesterday I changed my Stock HU to Pioneer Z9250BT. I have some observations below... hope experts here can help share your views/ explanation! 🙏🙂 1. Whereas previously volume on stock HU needs to be around 15-16 for a good (but not loud) listening experience, it is quite loud around 8-9 now... while I can pick up more background vocals and instruments in the music, I get ear fatigue more easily. I could further dial down the volume to reduce fatigue but if the volume is soft it seems to be a waste of the sub/ speaker/ pioneer HU setup since there is not really enjoyment in listening to v soft music. Is there anything I can do to enjoy the music and the increased clarity but yet reduce the ear fatigue? A little embarrassing to say, but slightly miss the old HU where it gave reasonable loudness without fatigue (although vocals and instruments were not as clear). 2. Is there any way to "turn off" EQ? In stock HU it was possible to turn off EQ and listen to music/ vocals in the "original" way, but in this HU seems I have to choose one of the pre-set settings [e.g. Natural, Vocal, Super Bass, etc]. I am slightly reluctant to choose any preset EQ, because it means that when I switch between say, pop and classical music, I will need to remember to change the EQ to another appropriate pre-set choice. Hence normally for any music player I will "turn off" EQ. 3. For "SPEAKER LEVEL" audio setting, the front 2 speakers are set at 4 dB, back 2 speakers are at 0 dB, while sub is at 6 dB. Do you know if this is the default factory setting, or was it "tuned" by the workshop? What is the default factory setting? What is the impact if I change the 2 speakers and sub to 0 dB? Will it cause audio quality to deteriorate? Thanks guys 🙏🙏🙏
  5. Hi , anyone buy from them before ? They said they are Hyundai authorise dealer. Thanks
  6. Hi all, I'm new here with a recent purchase of the avante S model. Since the purchase, there has been a creaking sound from the under carriage on the driver side. Only can be heard at 100km/h or above. I sent it in for a check and the mechanic said he tightened some bolt at the under carriage and asked me to monitor. Even after this, the sound is still there. Anyone encountered this? Apologies if this has been raised before as I have not read through the entire thread yet. Thanks 🙏
  7. hi everyone, posting here since i can't start a new thread yet. im a first time buyer looking to get a COE honda fit/civic or any other COE car which gets me from A to B. my question is, should i get a COE car which has been renewed for 5 years or 10 years? my friend has told me that if i get a 5 year one, at the end of the 5 years i will have to scrap the car which leaves me no value, so basically i'll waste the $$. however if i get a 10 year one, at the end of the 10 years i still can have the option of renewing the COE or selling it altogether. any advice? thanks!
  8. Browsing through the Elantra thread, it seems that more people are buying this model rather than the Altis. There seems to be more new Elantra than Altis on the roads as well. I can attribute it to the vast price difference between the two models. VES is one factor that is against the altis. Also, the specs of this Korean made car is superior than the Altis. Is this the year where the Elantra reign supreme and become the best selling car in Singapore? Is this the time where the Altis is finally dethroned by the Elantra? Or maybe Altis will still retain its top selling crown? Afterall the Toyota brand has always been associated with reliability. Lets have a healthy discussion on this.
  9. Hello Guys, Does anyone know of any good repair workshop for rocker panel damage and how much it cost? Thanks in advance!

  12. Is this another case of drivers having ego issues? Or was the driver of the Toyota Hiace simply not paying attention? Posted on SG Road Vigilante's Facebook page is this video of two drivers exiting into the KPE via a merging lane. We have no idea why would either driver would allow such a silly accident to happen to themselves. In our reckoning, the accident probably happened at less than 20km/h with the Hiace mini van slowing going into the rear of the Hyundai Elantra as the lane merges into a single one. Is the trouble of needing to waste time and money to get both vehicles repaired worth it? We think not. Giving way to the other vehicle and/or paying attention on the road is a way smarter option in our opinion...
  13. My current ride will be scrapping in December, am considering between the Elantra S and Cerato EX not ruling out other options looks the Jazz 1.5 The Hyundai is at the tail end of its current facelift with 2019 model already announced. Whereas the Cerato is a brand new facelift. Was actually quite biased against against Kia before yesterday as I totally hated the old Cerato, forte, and k3. So my test drive for the Cerato was pretty biased also. Until yesterday after I paid a second visit to Hyundai, then decided to pop by C&C just to look at the c4 cactus, the Cerato was parked outside. The more I look at it, the more the looks grow on me. So went inside the showroom again, have a sit inside the Cerato’s cabin......is like totally win the Elantra many times over. I don’t reallly mind the exterior of the Elantra S but I find the interior very dated. The Cerato EX cost more, but the equipment level is close to the Elantra elite. Weight wise, the Elantra is 100kg heavier Engine wise, the Cerato is using an older generation engine. (This is my main concern) I test drive both cars, but am unable to get any head on conclusion as I went to test drive the Elantra at leng kee and the Cerato at ubi. I don’t know is it psychological, but the Hyundai felt smoother and picks up abit easier. The additional 50l boot space of the Cerato doesn’t concern me much.
  14. Just bought a used Hyundai Elantra 2011 model. Left about 2 years. So far quite a comfy drive. Pumped full tank about closed to 40litre. Not sure how much distant it can cover though. Any Elantra users here to share more info and your good and bad points?
  15. which one do you think is more value for money?
  16. 2 weeks old Hyundai Elantra. Scratch to a pole when I make a reverse turn on a narrow road. Left side tail light cover crack, but all lights function well. My own car. Any suggestions? I only treat it as a transportation for my family. So do not want to spend much on repairing it. 1. Bring back to Komoco. But I do not think warranty will cover any. 2. Claim insurance. Excess 600. Maybe I just pay repairing cost and next year premium increase. 3. Outside workshop. Not sure what the cost for the light cover. 4. Use glue or tape to fix it by myself. To me the looking is not an issue. Wait next time go JB or has other issues repair together. Any ideas. Please help. Thanks.
  17. Does anyone know if there should be a splash cover for the undercarriage of the engine/gear box area?
  18. Hi all, anyone has any idea where I can get the Hyundai Elantra 2018 cruise control panel that is supposedly on the steering wheel?
