  2. New height of COE for Cat A may soon be announced, new cars are heard fully booked, agents are taking in orders to secure them with preparation to bid higher price of COE.....any fools know about this. Is this not really a bad news for those who intend to get a pre-owned car to bridge this period of craziness, think again. The 2nd car dealers are too prompt to increase prices by quite a bit in anticipation. I noticed several offers (with much cheaper COEs) asking for ridiculous prices with astronomical depreciation rate (US$12-15K per annum) by dealers, some owners alike.... For a new car, if scrap at the end of 10th year, the depreciation of a VW golf is 15K per annum (8/yr for COE, 5K for car, 2K for interest). For a pre-owned car, the depreciation of COE is much lower, but the car is much higher, and the overall depreciation works to be almost the same amount you pay for a new car. Take for instance, a 2010 Golf 1.4 was $106k then, the dealers are selling them today at the same price or more. But, the cost of COE was as low as $34k, so you are paying much more for the depreciation of the old car. If everyone of us just buy pre-owned car blindly without working out our sum, COE will continue to rise, it is a viscous cycle. If we lose patient, we shall pay the price, a hefty price indeed. If we can wait, we should. Thanks for hearing me out.
  3. Hi, I intend to change my front 2 tyres. Size 195 55 R15. Have been asking a few shops (Guan Lee, Sin Teck Leong to name these) for stock. But none so far. Appreciate if any one can point to a reliable shop stocking the above. I understand the price should be about $110-120 per piece. Thanks in advance.

  5. Yahoo News report : 5 M'sian cops suffer stomach ache after thieves use black magic Kuala Lumpur (The Star/ANN) - Five Malaysian policemen apparently suffered stomach aches after the suspected mastermind of a motorcycle theft syndicate allegedly used santau (black magic) on them, Malaysian newspaper Harian Metro reported. The daily quoted one victim identified as Hafis, 23, who claimed that one of them suffered a bloated stomach. He said that earlier, one policeman received a threatening SMS that they would be hit by a needle and that death awaited them. He claimed that the SMS came from a suspect in a motorcycle theft syndicate, whom they had arrested in May. Hafis said they consulted a bomoh (traditional medicine man) after doctors failed to diagnose the cause of their stomach aches and fever. The bomoh told them the "mastermind" had used santau angin (wind curse) and santau katak puru (toad curse), which caused them to suffer from the ailments. The bomoh also told them the mastermind had used nails, needles, hair and bones as the ingredients in the santau to poison his targets. Hafis said the bomoh advised them to stop frequenting their favourite restaurant as the santau was targeted at them and the food they eat at the place. For 'BM', I had seen it before my own eyes. 15 black needles being pulled out from a person left knee ..............

  7. http://www.asiaone.com/Travel/News/Story/A...707-153403.html No hot drinks served because the weather is warm WE don't serve hot drinks because the weather is warm today. That was the reply Addy Lee got from a Singapore Airlines (SIA) stewardess when he requested for a hot coffee on the plane, says the celebrity hairstylist on his blog. In a Sunday posting titled "SQ's joke" on lifestyle website omy.sg, Lee writes that he has been commuting frequently between Malaysia and Singapore, due to his role as a judge in the Malaysian programme, "I Wanna Be a Model". During an early flight back to Singapore last Thursday, Lee says he was taking a rest when the stewardess came around to serve drinks. He requested for a hot coffee, to which the stewardess said "huh" in reply. Thinking that the cabin crew did not hear him clearly, Lee says he repeated the request. This time, the stewardess said, "Sir, due to the warm weather, we do not have hot beverages". Taken aback by the reply, Lee reacted with a "huh", to which the stewardess repeated the same explanation - what he calls - a "joke". Lee says he finally settled for mineral water. He then heard the Caucasian passenger seated beside him saying, "How can be? SQ such a big company do not serve hot drink. Ridiculous", to which Lee just laughed. An SIA spokesperson told the Shin Min Daily News that when the weather is bad and turbulence is encountered, serving of hot beverages will be suspended for safety reasons. The spokesperson added that the safety of the plane's passengers and cabin crew are of the utmost priority. Shin Min understands that during bad weather conditions, the airline stops serving hot beverages, in case it spills and scalds passengers. Warm weather vs bad weather, very different loh....based on the report, if it is true, then SQ should send their staff for Introduction to English 101 instead of coffee, tea or me...LOL.....anybody gf or wife is a SQ stewardess, care to comment on this????

  12. Today at the National Stadium, I only tore one coupon, and displayed another 2 brand new unused coupons beside it. I figured that with so MANY cars in the carpark, Fatimah will not bother to look at each coupon in detail, and will likely take a quick glance and zoom in on only those cars without any coupons displayed Good idea right? Just wondering whether this is considered cheating and whether the fine will be heavier than parking without any coupons displayed. (this is not the case where the tabs are folded down without tearing them off entirely. for my case, i displayed brand new untorn unfolded coupon) well, i have the intention to cheat, but they can prove it right?
  13. Hi All, Can I know what your opinions are concerning the Honda Jazz, Fit or Toyota IST. I am considering getting one of them but can't decide which. Other than what was posted in "Jazz vs Fit", is there other things to consider? Can anyone provide me some pointers to consider? I am wondering if the Fit & the IST will have problems with spare parts. Also, there was a post that said that the Fit's rear window is heavily tinted. Does it mean that it won't pass inspection? Overall the IST looks so nice...... Thanks all
