  1. Goodyear’s ultimate all-rounder: new Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 combines luxurious comfort with superior wet braking and dry handling performance Successor to popular and acclaimed Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 range Innovative technologies unlock significant improvements in wet braking and dry handling without compromising ride comfort or road noise Caters to growing Ultra High Performance (UHP) market, with 61 SKUs arriving between February and December 2019 with fitments from Volkswagen Golf to Porsche 911 Goodyear has announced its next-generation Ultra High Performance (UHP) road tire, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5. Conceived as the ultimate all-round summer tire, Goodyear has utilized innovative technologies to unlock significant improvements in wet braking and dry handling without compromising ride comfort or road noise. Key to the tire’s breadth of ability is Goodyear’s development of a highly-refined compound that combines wet weather capabilities without sacrificing endurance or dry handling performance. Thanks to a contact patch designed to extend when braking, the tire’s contact with the road increases to a level more usually associated with a track tire, resulting in wet stopping distances which are a significant 4 percent shorter compared to the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3. [1] Goodyear’s efforts to optimize performance focused on reducing flex in the tread pattern as lateral forces are transmitted. The resultant crisp, precise turn-in, higher grip levels and efficient, clean acceleration facilitate an improvement in dry handling. Feedback through the steering is also enhanced, providing a more communicative and confidence-inspiring driving experience. Goodyear will introduce 51 SKUs between February and May 2019, with a further 10 arriving between June and December 2019. Goodyear will offer 17” to 22” diameters, 205 to 315 mm widths, and 50 to 25 side profiles, with intended fitments ranging from cars such as the Volkswagen Golf, through more luxurious cars such as the Mercedes C-Class and the BMW 3 series to the standard versions of the Porsche 911. This will strongly position Goodyear to exploit the robust 8.3 percent year-on-year growth experienced by the 17” and above UHP tire segment since 2012, now accounting for 22 percent of overall summer volume. [2] Upper segment vehicle sales are also forecast to increase from 17.5 to 18.2 percent by 2023 [3], while UHP demand from north-east and south-east Europe expanding 18 and 25 percent year-on-year since 2012 further increases the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5’s relevance to the market. 7. Hi, I intend to change my front 2 tyres. Size 195 55 R15. Have been asking a few shops (Guan Lee, Sin Teck Leong to name these) for stock. But none so far. Appreciate if any one can point to a reliable shop stocking the above. I understand the price should be about $110-120 per piece. Thanks in advance.
  8. Its FRIDAY, so let compose ourself for the weekends ahead. Enjoy reading the story between an Eagle life and we Human .... Our lives are not determined by what happens to us but by how we react to what happens. Not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It is a catalyst, a spark that creates extraordinary results. Let's change to make a change!!! When it rains, most birds head for shelter; the eagle is the only bird that, in order to avoid the rain, starts flying above the cloud....

  10. Duno kena shot down down or mechanical fault... From CNA: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/afp...1118182/1/.html US jet crashes in Libya, crew unhurt BERLIN: A US F-15 jet crashed in Libya due to a technical fault late Monday while enforcing a no-fly zone and both its crew ejected safely, the US Africa command said Tuesday. "Two crew members ejected from their US Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle when the aircraft experienced equipment malfunction over northeast Libya, March 21, 2011 at approximately 10:30 pm CET (2130 GMT)," the command, based in the western German city of Stuttgart, said in a statement. "Both crew members ejected and are safe... The cause of the incident is under investigation." A command spokeswoman, Nicole Dalrymple, told AFP the crew had sustained minor injuries and that one had been recovered while an operation to pick up the second was ongoing. She said the crash was not a result of hostile action and an investigation to determine the cause of the malfunction was underway. The aircraft, based out of Lakenheath, England, was flying out of Aviano air base in northeastern Italy. A US military official told AFP that one of the crew members was recovered by an Osprey, a hybrid aircraft which is both a transport plane and also has vertical take-off and landing capability like a helicopter. It had taken off from the USS Kearsarge amphibious assault ship off the coast of Libya. The other crew member was with rebel forces and was "in good hands," the official said. Western forces pounded strongholds of Libyan leader Muammar al-Gaddafi for a third night under a UN Security Council resolution authorising all necessary means to stop Gaddafi's forces harming civilians as they battle a rebellion. Coalition officials expressed satisfaction with progress in degrading Gaddafi's air defences. A senior US general said the strikes begun on Saturday night could diminish but the UN-mandated no-fly zone would be extended to the whole country. -AFP/wk

  12. Hi all, I currently using Goodyear LS2000. My tyre profile is 215 / 50/ 17 inch. I had been using this set of tyre for 1 year ++. Until recently i come back from cameron highland, my tyre like no grip. Especially i do a fast pickup, my tyre is spinning easily even on a dry road. I do a tyre thread check, no sign of uneven wear. The thread still have a lot. I even do a tyre rotation. There is one time i was at sengkang compass point shopping mall entrance. The entrance was a slant right side slope up. When i was travelling up the slope, my front tyre suddenly lose grip and it was keep spinning. My car was stuck on the slope. No matter, how hard i step on my pedal, the tyre keep spinning until a lot of smoke. Intially I thought normal, because that time is rainning and wet ground. Wah lau damn paiseh, behind of my car all siam me. Slowly, i reverse and go in a straight manner then was able to clear up the slope. Even the security guard come and see wht happen. Today also same thing happen at People park complex shopping mall. The entrance was smiliar to compass point slant right side slope up. My tyre also lose grip and spinning like no body business. Frankly speaking, normal driving or straight up slope totally no problem. Even i do a fast hard corner, i still feel the tyre grip. Now i totally have phobia of clearing up the slope especially shopping mall carpark. I really don't understand why my tyre is losing grip while the thread still have a lot. Anyone can advice me? or having the same situation as me? Should i change away all my tyre? Sorry for my long winded story.

  15. i'm currently on falken ze912 tyres as it came wif my 2nd hand vios..went to stamford tyres yesterday and was told tat per piece was ard $78 for 195/50/15..they seems to be pretty good tyres but i cant gauge as they already used when i got them. i was thinking of changing back to ze912 however it seems the review isnt too fantastic. i'm more concern abt the followings: 1. handling in wet conditions 2. thread wear rate comparing ze912 and eagle f1, which is a better buy? cuz they are ard the same price. as for re001 vs s-drive, i posted previously but not much replies..i understand they are in the region of $110-$120/pc and i haf good experience wif re001 previously. i dun drive hard these days as i'm driving an AT car nw..would it be an overkill to buy re001/s-drive? for ur inputs! :)

  17. Hi guys, I would love to have your feedback on the sidewall of these tyres. Is it as hard as AD07 or T1R? AD-08 is not worth the price for a street tyre... so I won't consider it. I'm lazy to go down to a tyre shop just to look at it. Thank you!
