  1. Hi, Anyone used these tyres before and how do you rate them? What tyres will you changed if it's down to these 3 choices? Btw am talking about Europe made ones.
  2. Goodyear’s ultimate all-rounder: new Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 combines luxurious comfort with superior wet braking and dry handling performance Successor to popular and acclaimed Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 range Innovative technologies unlock significant improvements in wet braking and dry handling without compromising ride comfort or road noise Caters to growing Ultra High Performance (UHP) market, with 61 SKUs arriving between February and December 2019 with fitments from Volkswagen Golf to Porsche 911 Goodyear has announced its next-generation Ultra High Performance (UHP) road tire, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5. Conceived as the ultimate all-round summer tire, Goodyear has utilized innovative technologies to unlock significant improvements in wet braking and dry handling without compromising ride comfort or road noise. Key to the tire’s breadth of ability is Goodyear’s development of a highly-refined compound that combines wet weather capabilities without sacrificing endurance or dry handling performance. Thanks to a contact patch designed to extend when braking, the tire’s contact with the road increases to a level more usually associated with a track tire, resulting in wet stopping distances which are a significant 4 percent shorter compared to the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3. [1] Goodyear’s efforts to optimize performance focused on reducing flex in the tread pattern as lateral forces are transmitted. The resultant crisp, precise turn-in, higher grip levels and efficient, clean acceleration facilitate an improvement in dry handling. Feedback through the steering is also enhanced, providing a more communicative and confidence-inspiring driving experience. Goodyear will introduce 51 SKUs between February and May 2019, with a further 10 arriving between June and December 2019. Goodyear will offer 17” to 22” diameters, 205 to 315 mm widths, and 50 to 25 side profiles, with intended fitments ranging from cars such as the Volkswagen Golf, through more luxurious cars such as the Mercedes C-Class and the BMW 3 series to the standard versions of the Porsche 911. This will strongly position Goodyear to exploit the robust 8.3 percent year-on-year growth experienced by the 17” and above UHP tire segment since 2012, now accounting for 22 percent of overall summer volume. [2] Upper segment vehicle sales are also forecast to increase from 17.5 to 18.2 percent by 2023 [3], while UHP demand from north-east and south-east Europe expanding 18 and 25 percent year-on-year since 2012 further increases the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5’s relevance to the market. 8. For Goodyear fans or those who wants to change tyres soon. Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 coming soon. http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/Goodyear-Eagle-F1-Asymmetric-3-Press-Release.htm#disqus_thread Goodyear's answer to the Michelin Pilot Super Sport and Continental Sport Contact 6 is finally here, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3! While we've not yet had the chance to drive on it, the independent German test body TUV have done their usual array of tests, and found that the new Goodyear has 2.6 metres shorter wet braking (9% better performance) and 1.3 metres shorter dry braking (4% better performance) than the average of the Michelin Pilot Sport 3, Bridgestone Potenza S001 and Continental Sport Contact 5. This is a tyre we're very excited about, so you can be sure we'll be reporting on the driving experience at the first opportunity. The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 will be sold in 17 to 20 inches, covering 41 sizes. The tyre will be on the market in certain sizes now, with the majority of sizes on sale by March 2016. Press Release Goodyear announces its new summer tyre, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3: the Ultra-High Performance tyre that delivers shorter braking distance on dry & wet roads helping drivers to stay in control and ready to enjoy the journey. With proven Eagle family test wins and OE track record, it is Goodyear’s premium offering for outstanding braking performance, responsive handling and control in both dry and wet conditions. The Ultra High-Performance segment is clearly a growth market, with an expected compound annual growth rate from 2015 to 2020 of more than 3%². The market is expected to grow in this timeframe with more than 9 mil units². This is primarily driven by the growth of the car park in the C, D and E vehicle segments (medium, executive, large and luxury cars) that are increasingly fitted with UHP rated tyres. The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 redefines tyre performance for powerful saloons and sports cars as well as their driver’s expectations. Significant efforts went into optimising the tyre for outstanding safety and performance. More than 36.000 engineering hours went into the development of the tyre, including over 5.000 tests, 1.200 tests on the road and 3.800 on five test locations in five countries, covering a total of 330,000 km. A key feature is the active braking technology increasing the contact surface and grip when braking, which allows for a shorter braking distance. Additionally, the new grip booster compound ensures increased grip during braking and handling and adhesive resin for stickiness delivers strong grip for shorter braking and performance handling on wet and dry roads. The new reinforced construction technology allows for steering precision and durability by delivering a stronger lightweight construction improving handling, cornering performance, tread wear and fuel efficiency. The independent TÜV Süd Benchmark Test ordered by Goodyear confirmed the key strengths of the tyre. The results show that the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 has a 2.6 metres shorter braking distance (9% better performance) on wet roads than the average of three main competitors. The braking distance on dry roads is 1.3 metres shorter (4% better performance) and the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 demonstrates 4% better wet handling than the average of three main competitors. The results also show a 10.9 % better rolling resistance than the average of three main competitors and the tyre represents the second best rolling resistance performance of tyre brands tested. “We are very happy that the TÜV test confirms that Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 delivers leading results in the braking test, especially during more demanding situations such as rainfall” says Alexis Bortoluzzi, Goodyear Marketing Director Consumer EMEA. “After all, braking is the number one consumer need, and particularly critical for high performance car drivers.” The new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 will be available in 41 sizes in 17 to 20 inches starting as of December 2016, range will be completed with the majority of sizes by March 2016. - 2.6 metres shorter braking distance (9% better performance) on wet roads and 1.3 metres shorter braking distance (4% better performance) on dry roads compared to average performance of 3 latest designs from main competitors in UHP segment (Michelin Pilot Sport 3, Bridgestone Potenza S001, Continental Sport Contact 5). 11. Hi guys Tires reaching 3 years old and I'm looking for something at least on the same level of the F1D5, or a good upgrade to it. My tire size is 195/50/15, and I'm looking for good cornering and grip. Comfort and sound levels don't matter to me. I was looking at Michelin PS3, PS4, and the ContinentalSportContact 5. Is the PSS too out of my league? Also, I've wanted to try Hankook RS2, but apparently its already EOL, and the RS3 does not have my size. Seeking the help and advice of tire gurus here for which is the best upgrade to my F1D5. Thanks!
  12. Hi all bro, Need your expert view.Which is better between the two mention rides? Thinking of getting one. Cheers
  13. Anyone has tried on the the above? I have read up tyrereview and tirerack and couldn't come to a decision. I am currently on CSC3. Initially I was set on PS3 due to its handling better than CSC3 tilll I saw the results on Assy2. The thing tt won me over was the braking distance in both wet and dry. Not only tt, it has lower rolling resistance than PS3. http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2012-...raking-Test.htm This I thought is quite applicable to our climate. Anyone has any encounters with the sidewall crack on GY Assy2? Thanks for your inputs.

  25. Goodyear has chosen the 2012 Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung (IAA) Commercial Vehicle Show to showcase their innovative self-inflating tire technology known as the Air Maintenance Technology (AMT). The system has been undergoing testing over the past few years. The tire is fitted with a peristaltic pump which consists of a tube with valves running along the bead. When the tire pressure drops, the valves open and the squeezing effect caused by the deformation of the tire rubber pumps air from the atmosphere into the chamber until the right pressure is achieved. Conversely, when the tire pressure is too high, the system can lower the pressure to the correct level. The beauty of the system is that no electronics are involved. "While the technology is complex, the idea behind the AMT system is relatively simple and powered by the tire itself as it rolls down the road," said Jean-Claude Kihn, Goodyear senior vice president and chief technical officer. If you think that replacement of punctured tire will become a thing of the past, think again. When the car comes to a halt, the system will cease to function as the rolling action is non-existent. This means that the punctured tire needs to be replaced before driving off unless the driver wants to put his alloy rim at risk. Goodyear has received grants from the United States Department of Energy's Office of Vehicle Technology to aid further development. Keeping tires at the optimal operating pressure can lower emissions, prolong tire lifespan, and enhance safety and vehicle performance. If the system proves itself in commercial vehicles, it may be adopted for regular road car use within a few years.
