    MAZDA 6

How come this model like no value one? 5k dep nia... Sell that time should be 4k...... jialat. Is it a problematic car?
  2. With a torrential rainstorm hitting Singapore yesterday, drivers experienced high tensions as they braved the rain during the morning peak hours. One driver, however, was not so lucky and did not escape the wrath of a motorcyclist. As the first few seconds of this video rolled by, I was already irritated by the sight of the slow-moving vehicles crawling their way through the underpass along Farrer Road. However, when the motorcyclist lined himself beside the Mazda just before entering the underpass, I knew something interesting was going to happen. As the motorcyclist unsuccessfully attempted to lane-split, he found himself stuck behind the black Mazda 6 throughout the entire underpass. Presumably annoyed that the congested roads did not open for him, the motorcyclist crept close to the Mazda to squeeze through the tiny gaps in between the lanes. Unable to get his way, the angry biker zoomed past the car once the roads were clearing up and expressed his emotions with an angry whack to the Mazda 6's side mirror. Very much like this angry cat here. What is lane-splitting? Just in case you were lost earlier when I mentioned it. Defined as 'riding a bicycle or motorcycle between roadway lanes of vehicles driving in the same direction', it is common for motorcyclists to perform lane splitting in slow-moving traffic. The main argument for this act is because lane-splitting prevents motorcycles from overheating. When a running motorcycle is at a standstill or edging forward for an extended period, the vehicle heats up quickly. Hence, riders must keep moving, even in congested traffic. However, lane-splitting is incredibly inconsiderate to other road users. Although it is tolerated by traffic laws when done safely, it puts the motorcyclist at a higher risk of getting crushed by a larger vehicle. Unless there is adequate space in between lanes, riders should avoid lane-splitting at all costs. Instead, the best way to manoeuvre through congested roads would be to practice care and anticipation. Better to stay safe than sorry! Netizens' reactions Some say the Mazda 6 driver is being a dick and others say the motorcyclist cb. What do you think? I think the Mazda 6 driver is pretty innocent tbh. -------- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 3. Petty Mazda 6 driver pulls several dangerous stunts after getting cut by a parent sending her kids to school. The incident occurred on Thursday morning (July 29) at Yishun, near Chongfu Primary School. According to the camcar’s Facebook post, his wife sent their son to school in the morning and stopped kerbside for the boy to alight. The footage showed that while she was stopping, it looked like she accidentally cut into the navy blue Mazda’s lane as the driver had wanted to move off. Thinking that it was on purpose, the driver got upset and merged into the next lane. From there, he continuously taunted her with dangerous stunts, such as jamming the brakes and blocking the vehicle from moving off while on the road. She tried to shake off the Mazda driver by switching lanes, but the driver kept going back and forth between both lanes just to cut her off. In the middle of the video, the driver suddenly stopped his vehicle in a yellow box and alighted, which obstructed the traffic flow. He then made his way to the camcar and proceeded to scold and threaten the driver for cutting into his lane. This went on for a while as other vehicles tried to move around the parked Mazda while the driver throws his temper tantrum. The rest of the video showed the Mazda driver wildly gesturing to the camcar driver, continuously taunting her before moving off in an illegal u-turn. Netizens’ reactions TBH, there is no way that the childish behaviour of the Mazda driver can ever be justified in this situation. Letting his anger get to his head and lashing out at others while blocking traffic flow is highly immature. Why are there drivers like this in Singapore? --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 4. Any opinions on the 2.5 camry hybrid vs 2.5 mazda 6? both priced quite similarly....which is a better buy?
  5. if given a choice between the 2 vehicles, which do you think is a better, more valuable purchase? which offers a better fuel economy, reliability, performance, comfort? anybody owns the 2 vehicles care to give a review?
  6. Hi bro, Any one know when the facelift MZ 6 will arrive?Cheers
  7. Hi Am looking for a replacement car of not more than $160k. Some considerations for narrowing down my choices are: a) Reliability; b) Safety; c) Performance; d) FC; e) Comfort; f) Maintenance costs (AD) - a range would be helpful; g) Insurance premium. Have test drove the Volvo T5, Infiniti Q50 and Mazda 6 recently. All 2.0 litre petrol cars. Diesel cars not an option as my mileage not high. Just doing my due diligence before making a commitment. Hence, would greatly appreciate existing/ past owners of the above cars to share experience of their ride; and potential owners to share the x-factors that made them signed on the dotted line. Thanks a lot!
  8. Hi all bro, Need your expert view.Which is better between the two mention rides? Thinking of getting one. Cheers
  9. Hi, I just got my driving license last month and would like to purchase a used car for both family purpose and also gain some practical skills. I stay with wife, a one-year old baby and parents. Hence I believe a big car is necessary but not MPV as it is to big for newbie. As the family is big, I think a 2.0L is a must, thus I have shortlisted Kia Magentis, Hyundai Sonata, Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Nissan Cefiro, Mazda 6 and Subaru Legcy. Prefer to buy a car registered in 2016 or 2017 because eventually I may have to buy a MPV when second baby comes. Please share your opinion on these cars: i.e interior space (2 adults and a safety seat in rear row), FC, reliability and cost. Thank You!
  10. Im looking to switch to a bigger car. Almost buy a 07 mazda 6 that i really like ( superb condition ) but was sold just before i could get rid of my car. Realise all the remaining mazda 6 2007 model in the market all shouting 10k+ depri and realise in that case I could go for a 08 1 sua... short listed a few car and both their depri is between 11-12k range. I feel mazda 6 looks more stylish, the interior also alot of gadget like pedal shifter and cruise control etc. Camry i feel space wise is slightly bigger and also toyota quite well known for reliability. Alot of my friend say get the camry if same depri, as higher resale and less problem. FC should be better as well. However feedback is Im too "young" for this kind of car ( late 20s )but for me isnt an issue. I was wondering if anyone face the same dilemma before? Dont tell me to buy legacy or accord, don't really like at all. I realise for 12k+ depri can even get a audi a3 1.8 or 320, but I think continental at this price should prolly mean trouble lol. Thanks guys
  11. Hiroshima-based carmaker, Mazda, has got a good reason for celebration. The company returned to profitability for the fiscal year that ended on 31st March 2013. This is after four years of losses, including a loss of US$1.14 billion (S$1.41 billion) for FY2011. Mazda posted a global net profit of US$364.3 million (S$450 million) for FY2012. Mazda CEO, Takashi Yamanouchi, attributed the result to restructuring and a falling Yen, which has depreciated by 21 percent against the US dollar since November last year. This helped to improve Japanese exports. However, the North American market continued to bleed in fiscal year that had just ended, posting an operating loss of US$519.1 million (S$641 million) although all the other regions remained in the black. Sales in North America also fell short of the company's forecast. Looking forward, Mazda expects the region to get a boost from the full year impact of the all new Mazda6 and the debut of the next generation Mazda3. For FY2013, Mazda expects global net and operating profit to double in the wake of the Yen's decline and the rolling out of more vehicles equipped with the company's latest Skyactiv engine, transmission and chassis technologies.
  12. The current generation Mazda6 is what I believe has brought back some credibility to driving or owning a Japanese car. Prior to this I do not think of any mid-sized Japanese cars that had technology already common to the Germans and, surprisingly the Koreans. The Mazda6 is one of the first new Japanese cars with Direct Injection (like most German cars and some Korean cars these days) and one that has eco-friendly gizmos that actually make sense instead of just hybrid this and hybrid that. It also comes with decent built quality, ergonomics as well as having decent handling and drivability too. But after sitting on one recently, I think Mazda, or the Japanese manufacturers need some further polishing to do. Now the cabin of the Mazda6, or the 'Kodomobil', as I like to call it (after its 'Kodo' exterior design language) is a pretty nice place to be in. All of its controls are where you expect it to be and the materials used are pretty good to the touch. I would like more tactile feel in some of the secondary switches but it isn
  13. [extract] As the automotive industry enters the 21st century, we could see more and more automakers adding or introducing a variety of features and structural bracing onto their new, redesigned models. And when there
  14. [extract] Recently, Mazda teased us with photos of its next generation Mazda6. In a way, Mazda is telling us that it is pretty much coming soon and the company has officially kicked off production this week at Hofu No.2 plant in Yamaguchi prefecture, Japan. The production version will be showcased in the upcoming Moscow Auto show later this month. The very first example to roll off the line wasn
  15. [extract] It is not a secret about Mazda having zero net profit for the past three years and it is likely that the Japanese auto giant is going to go through another year of financial loss. And due to this, Mazda is looking for partners to share development and manufacturing costs so as to return to profitability. According to the company
  16. Sometimes real life is even more bizarre than in the movies. The top brass over at Mazda North America must be really miffed as they had to approve a recall for 65,000 Mazda 6 made between 2009-2010 due to the fact that there have been twenty reported cases of yellow sac spiders getting in a ventilation line of the Mazda 6's fuel system. This arachnid invasion to the fuel system could cause increased pressure in the fuel tank which could lead to cracks or even a fire. The press statement did not really say how those little crawlers got inside the Mazda's fuel systems but theories suggest that the spiders may have entered the fuel tank during assembly. The cars affected were built at Mazda's US plant and only affects the cars over there. These cars include Mazda 6 sold in the US, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico. Mazda also reports that there have been no accidents caused by these fuel system invasion. Now for some National Geographic-like stuff for those interested in these little crawlies. The Yellow Sac spider or, as it is scientifically known, the Cheiracanthium is a species of spider from the Miturgidae family of arachnids. They are usually pale yellow in color around the abdomen area and its size ranges from 5 to 10mm. So it's pretty tiny. It is also a spider that can bite. A bite can cause a small lesion in humans and there could be a small risk of infection but its bite isn't one of those severe one that poisonous spiders like the female black widow which could kill a human. And you thought you'd never learn anything useful in an autoblog. Imagine that, spiders in your fuel lines. How do they survive in the fuel lines and tank of a Mazda 6? What do they eat? Do they sip or guzzle RON92 or do they prefer higher octane?
  17. Mazda has made an official release on its mid-size model, the Atenza, in Japan. More of a subtle nip-and-tuck than a full blown facelift, the 2011 MY Atenza has been refined with some styling changes, chassis tweaks and a new 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with direct injection. The exterior enhancements for the freshened Mazda6 bring it inline with the firm's more recent models mainly by adopting the new Mazda family face with a five-point front grille. The front bumper has been redesigned and features more pronounced air-inlets on the corners. The newly styled 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels together with the revised tail lamp clusters complete the exterior makeover. The interior updates are minor, with changes limited to the new glossy piano-black finish that has been applied to the center panel, audio and air conditioner panels, shift gate and steering wheel spokes. Climate control and audio dials, shift knob and inner door handles are now chrome garnished. Underneath the hood, Mazda fitted the revised Atenza with its newly developed 2.0-liter DISI gasoline engine with direct injection, generating 153 PS at 6,200rpm and 189Nm of torque at 4,500rpm. It is slightly more powerful than the outgoing 2.0L powerplant but pales in comparison to the 2.0 Ecoboost unit that will be powering the revised Ford Mondeo. The Japanese automaker commented that it has also tweaked the Atenza's power steering and suspension settings improving the car's handling and straight-line stability at high speeds as well the ride quality.
