  1. TL:DR – SMRT taxi abruptly stops on lane 1 of an expressway for reasons unknown and causes a massive chain collision in its wake before driving off, oblivious to the destruction it caused behind. There are idiot drivers everywhere Our latest example drives a SMRT taxi. Watch the video below to find out why. Here’s the rear-view camera footage The SMRT taxi abruptly stops just before an ERP gantry on lane 1. The alert cam car driver comes to a complete stop as well. One or two cars manage to avoid crashing into cam car by quickly changing to lane 2 before the chain collision occurs. Only Asian cars involved Besides the cam car (which I cannot identify), there’s a Mazda 3. A Toyota Altis. Or what looks like a Toyota Altis. (It became a hatchback after the crash). And of course, the unsuspecting Honda Fit (poor fella) that crashed into the Altis, causing the chain collision. Facebook Post by driver of Cam Car Online Chatter Upon exploring the comments, we managed to uncover a bit more about the incident. The cam car driver took the time to reply most of the comments. Maybe the taxi driver didn't notice what was happening behind him? He's still an idiot driver though. I needed to translate because my Chinese sucks. Yeah, this is the most likely scenario. If I’m not wrong, he’ll be claiming from the Mazda 3 driver and the Mazda 3 driver will claim from the Toyota Altis. Then the Altis will claim from the Honda Fit. But, what about the main culprit of this incident? The SMRT Taxi driver? ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  2. A Getgo Mazda 3 was caught on camera speeding over the road speed limit of 60km/h and overtaking the camcar that was traveling under the speed limit at 55km/h. Watch the video for yourself below 293530692_956129985780000_1463920411778136038_n.mp4 The video begins with footage of cam car travelling along Yuan Ching Road. At around the 0.02 mark, a Getgo Mazda 3 appears out of nowhere, zooms past and overtakes the cam car at a speed that exceeds the regulated speed limit of 60km/h, breaking traffic laws. The Mazda 3 was speeding as if it was in a fast and furious movie. Maybe there's a lack of responsibility with a car that’s not owned by the driver? What's the penalty? For speeding, the getgo driver can be fined an amount of up to $150 to $300 for minor speeding-related offenses. However, if the speed limit is exceeded by 40km/h, repeat offenders can potentially be jailed to a duration of up to 10 years. Your licence will also be revoked in the process, and you may be permanently barred from driving. Demerit points are also awarded to the driver according to the speed limit that he/she exceeds. Just don’t speed lah! Netizen Comments Netizens have expressed their take on the situation, mocking and criticizing the Getgo driver, though some have concurring opinions that the camcar was hogging lanes. Personally, I believe that the Getgo driver should punished severely for exceeding the speed limit. It is precisely this kind of irresponsible behavior that leads to fatal and irreversible road accidents. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 3. Remember the viral Rolls Royce incident below? Here is a similar incident that occurred recently, but with a twist: What Happened? Those who have been to Upper Thomson would be aware of how difficult it is to get a vacant parking lot along the stretch of the service road. For one "creative" Mazda 3 driver, he defies all odds to park his car - by mounting the kerb and parking it on the pedestrian footpath. After parking his car on the pedestrian footpath, he alights from his white Mazda, where he faces the cam car driver behind him. Instead of acknowledging his wrongdoing of parking his car illegally and congesting the service road, he walked to the cam car and dared to ask the driver to squeeze in between 2 cars. Needless to say, the cam car driver refused to budge for an obvious reason. The space between the white Mitsubishi Lancer and the illegally parked Mazda 3 was too tight to squeeze through. The Mazda 3 driver continued to grumble and air his grievances against the cam car driver for not attempting to squeeze through. After much "persuasion", the cam car driver decided to try his luck squeezing past the cars but to no avail. Just then, the passenger of the Mazda 3 driver, supposedly his wife, appeared. And although it was not captured on the dashcam, it seemed like his wife managed to diffuse the situation and persuaded him to drive off. Several onlookers stared at him in bewilderment as he mounted the kerb (again) and drove off from the pedestrian footpath. Netizens' Comments Maybe if he was driving a conti, there's a chance he could catch people's attention🤭 To sum it up, this guy got many issues. If we can share our roads with cyclists, I am sure we can share the Earth with these people too🙂 ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 4. Car sharing drivers have developed quite a bad reputation for their atrocious driving over the years. If you're wondering how bad they are right now, look no further. Here's a video that will make you facepalm yourself: What Happened? After failing to come to a complete stop at a stop-line, a GetGo Mazda 3 abruptly performed an e-brake to avoid t-boning a taxi. For some reason (most likely to give the Mazda 3 driver a death stare), the taxi stopped just in front of the Mazda 3. At this point, the Mazda 3 somehow gently rolls forward and collides with the side of the taxi. I am not sure about you, but this deserves a good facepalm moment. This incident serves as a prime example of the poor driving skills that the majority of car sharing drivers possess. Netizens' Comments MMMM..... 👁️👄👁️ Personally, I tend to avoid being around these cars. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 5. Over the years, car-sharing drivers have developed a bad reputation (especially the electric vehicle ones. Not going to mention names). Today we have a GetGo Mazda 3 though. Throw in a lady driver into the mix and here is what you will get: What Happened? This incident occurred at an open-air carpark located in Jurong West. The video above was filmed by a resident staying directly at the block above the carpark. The driver supposedly loses control of a GetGo Mazda 3, mounts the kerb and crashes into a row of metal railing. Subsequently, she attempted to dismount the kerb by reversing the vehicle. After what seemed like an eternity, she managed to get the vehicle out and parks it in a vacant parking lot. She then proceeded to alight from the vehicle and walked around it to inspect the damages on the Mazda 3. The Hilarious Part This segment of the video was what made me chuckle to myself. TBH, the camera guy's reaction is so similar to that of a peeping tom when he gets caught LMAO. @Camera guy You never do anything wrong. Why did you hide? Final Words If you can't drive, then don't drive. You are only putting yourself in danger, and other road users too. However, if you are so insistent on driving, at least do it with an experienced driver by your side. Netizens' Comments Well, it is possible to access car sharing vehicles without a license. Read it here. HAHAHAHA. Just gonna leave these comments here 👀 ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  6. Car-sharing is an undeniably innovative and affordable way for the public to access a car. In the wrong hands, car-sharing can be a double-edged sword, capable of posing a hazard to other road users. *Pretty sure we are all familiar with drivers of a small, white car on lane 1 of the expressway, driving with its high beam on and tailgating others👀* Watch this video to find out how car-sharing can be a deadly hazard to other road users when driven by irresponsible pricks: What Happened? This incident occurred along Bartley Viaduct, in the direction of Bartley Road East. The traffic on the stretch of road was absolutely clear, apart from a GetGo Car (Mazda 3) and motorcycle that passed the cam car. During which, the GetGo driver was driving in between two lanes. (Definitely a sign of a chiu cheng driver) For some reason, the GetGo driver failed to spot the motorcyclist that was LITERALLY right in front of him. As a result, the GetGo driver ended up swerving to his right to avoid rear-ending the motorcyclist. The high speed, coupled with the sudden swerve, caused the Mazda 3 to lose traction and skid. As much as I don't wish to make any assumptions, I can assure you the GetGo driver probably has minimal driving experience (Either that or he is drunk/on drugs). *Don't drop the "Even though I have not been driving ever since I got my license at 18, I have x years of driving experience" B.S on me* While attempting to regain control over the vehicle, the GetGo driver ended up sideswiping the motorcycle...REAL BAD. The collision caused the motorcyclist to fall and repeatedly roll on the road. It seems like the motorcyclist may have sustained significant injuries. The GetGo driver scoots off immediately without hesitating after colliding with the motorcyclist. Not Caught On Camera According to the cam car, he chased the GetGo car after witnessing the hit and run. Apparently, during his escape, the GetGo car also collided with two other vehicles in the vicinity of Maris Stella High School. A pity all these were not caught on a dashcam. It would certainly serve as solid evidence to put this chiu cheng driver away for good. Here's to wishing the motorcyclist a speedy recovery. And I hope the dashcam video finds you well to assist you in your claims accordingly. Netizens' Comments 🤨🤨🤨 Heng ah. Kudos to the cam car driver, you the real MVP. ======== Receive a $10 PayNow for every submission we publish on Facebook! Simply WhatsApp us ➡️https://bit.ly/3c6JERA
  7. TL;DR – A Mazda 3 driver and a Mitsubishi Attrage driver yells at one another at a HDB estate for reasons unknown. Let’s dive right into the 49-second video. This incident looks like it occurred at a HDB estate (location undetermined), possibly near the entrance of a MSCP. Kimak! The video begins with the grey Mazda 3 driver stepping out of his car, clearly unhappy with the driver in the red Mitsubishi Attrage. . Mazda driver loses all chill and starts cursing at the Mitsubishi driver’s mother (in Malay) and other assorted dialects referencing the female anatomy. The Mitsubishi driver does play a part in this heated exchange as well. He did not project his voice as well as the Mazda driver though, so his voice is muted. What could have sparked this? Looking at the screenshot closely, I think the grey Mazda driver got mad because he was trying to make a left, but he felt obstructed by the Mitsubishi, who was turning right but positioned his car at a weird angle. Red car not in the wrong Technically, one could argue that the Mitsubishi was still within its lane, AND in his defence, he also stopped at the stop line. Online Chatter I also say. That would be a plot twist indeed. Sadly, a lot of things are wrong with the world. -------- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 8. Another day, another joker on the road getting what he deserves for his reckless driving. What happened In the wee hours of the morning, a Mazda 3 driver is seen driving down Admiralty Road right beside a large garbage truck. Wanting to filter to his right, the car flashes its right indicator lights to signal its intention. This is when things start to go horribly wrong. Instead of letting the truck pass, the Mazda driver fails to check for safety and starts to drift to the right. The weird thing about his behaviour is that he actually slows down right in front of the large truck as his vehicle performs the lane change. As a result, the car ends up getting hit in the rear by the garbage truck and continues along the road for a while before coming to a stop. It is unclear if the Mazda driver had hit the brakes on purpose or by accident. Additionally, the fact that the Mazda kept going after getting hit could mean that the driver did not realise that he had been hit. A great example of why all drivers die die must have insurance It is important to note that the Mazda 3 driver carries a P plate, which is a probationary license plate that should be put on display at the top-right portion of the front and back windscreens of new drivers. The plate can be taken down after a year of valid driving experience. As such, it is critical that all drivers, especially P-platers, have insurance in case of accidents like this. Annual premiums for car insurance typically start at $850, and the amount that you pay is determined by your age, your occupation, the amount of driving experience you have, your car model, and your claims history. For P platers and drivers below the age of 27, car premiums are through the roof as insurers deem these drivers to possess a higher level of risk of getting into accidents. Netizens' reactions P-platers, no matter the situation, there is no reason good enough to justify driving and switching lanes recklessly. 9. Hi all, This thread is with regards to the 'Mazda 3 driver who failed to stop at the stop line @ a hospital carpark' article. I've noticed a couple of comments on Facebook stating that the cam car should not have sounded its horn in a 'no horn zone'. But, it's okay if it's to avoid an accident/collision right?
  10. TL;DR – Mazda 3 driver exits a carpark, does not stop at the stop line and almost collides with cam car. The driver then proceeds to wave his hands to “give way” to the cam car. Whut? This incident happened on the 17th of August 2021, Tuesday @ 11.15pm A Mazda 3 driver exiting the Sengkang General Hospital carpark failed to stop at the stop line which almost led to a collision with the cam car that was travelling on the road perpendicular to the Mazda 3. While incidents like this are commonplace, what happens next is what makes this story interesting. Here’s the 51-second video YaYa Papaya You’ll notice that the Mazda 3 driver makes some hand gesture of sorts initially. If it’s unclear, don’t worry, it gets better. He then winds down his window and you’d think that the Mazda 3 driver would apologise and carry on with life. But nope! He waves his hand to ‘allow’ the cam car to move! Eh hello?! You were in the wrong, and now you’re acting all high-and-mighty ff? 11. This incident left me speechless, period. Just watch the video to find out. This incident happened at the junction between East Coast Road and Cheow Keng Road, involving a white Mazda 3 and a grey Mercedes S320. These are the details of the vehicles involved in the accident. The video is from the cam car’s perspective, who happened to be parked right before the scene of the accident. The white Mazda 3 was travelling between two lanes before slowly veering to its left and hitting the stationary Mercedes S320. The impact from the hit then brought the Mazda 3 to a complete stop. Shortly after, a lady driver who appears unhurt comes out of the Mazda 3 to check on both vehicles. Considering the above, we can rule out health issues being the cause of this accident. The aftermath of the accident What may seem like an ordinary day for the Mercedes S320 driver (probably having tea break along East Coast Road) took a turn for the worst. Imagine coming back to a wrecked car because of this random chiu cheng Mazda 3 driver. Netizens' comments Driving while using her mobile phone seems like the only logical explanation for the cause of this accident. Ha Ha Ha this fella is a joker. This Mazda 3 driver will certainly be paying a high price for her actions. I hope this serves as a valuable lesson for her to become a better driver. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 12. A PHV Toyota Vellfire was caught on video bullying a Mazda 3 by intentionally blocking it and preventing it from changing lanes. This road-bullying incident occurred on the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE), which involved a PHV Toyota Vellfire and a Mazda 3. In the video, a Mazda 3 and a PHV Toyota Vellfire are travelling alongside each other on lanes 1 and 2, respectively. Moments after, the cam car driver flashes his high beam as an indication to the Mazda 3 driver to filter to lane 2. BUT HERE'S WHAT PUZZLES ME The PHV Toyota Vellfire driver went through many inconveniences just to REPEATEDLY block the Mazda 3 from filtering to lane 2. The Vellfire PHV driver performed PLENTY of brake checks and aggressive manoeuvres such as overtaking from the left. Just so the Vellfire driver could remain alongside the Mazda 3 after overtaking a motorcyclist from the left, I felt that he might have pushed the entire 179bhp out of his 2.5L engine. However, I suspect that these two drivers had a prior altercation before this entire incident. FACTS NGL, this is what happens when a driver that lacks in confidence (Mazda 3) meets a guai lan driver (Toyota Vellfire). Regardless of what may have happened earlier, this Toyota Vellfire is definitely an a**hole of a driver. Unpopular opinion: Camcar, you ain’t no saint either. Instead of whining and flashing your high beam at the Mazda 3, you could have backed off a little and given way to the Mazda 3, so he could filter to lane 2. Netizens' comments Let’s all practice being more gracious and courteous on the road. 13. We start off the week with video that happened a week or so ago but only started to trend recently. Seen on SG Road Vigilante, is this particular Mazda 3 driver that became so triggered that he had to get out of his car with vulgarities spewing out of his mouth non stop. Like all road rage incidents though, it takes two to clap. Thankfully, the camera car driver was honest enough to show what he did that made the Mazda 3 driver so pissed. We could see him honking the Mazda as the road merge at the junction along Bedok North Road, before speeding past the Mazda which also tried to filter into the middle lane due to construction works ahead. Those two actions probably triggered the Mazda 3 driver bad and when he got to block the camera car, he made sure he was heard by the camera car. Probably not wanting to blow this up, the camera car drove off after the heated exchange of words but the Mazda 3, whose road tax had also expired, gave chase and did some not-very-nice gestures when he caught up... Let us know what are your thoughts on this case of road rage!
  14. We have no idea what to make of this. Shot on the 3rd of October 2020 at the junction of East Coast Road and Siglap Road, an accident occoured between a blue Mazda3 and a couple of motorcyclists. As we can see from the video posted by SG Road Vigilante, the Mazda simply veered slowly out of his lane before crashing into a Deliveroo and McDonalds delivery rider who were waiting to do a right turn at the junction. We are ashamed to say with it happening all very leisurely, the whole incident did looked slightly funny. Our apologies! Could the driver have fallen asleep while driving slowly or was he just playing with his phone and not concentrating on where he was going?

  16. And just like that, another sgCarMart review is ready to sneak up on you! Seems like Julian is missing so James summons our producer himself to pair with him for the review! Of course, a round of hazing is necessary to initiate the fresh blood, and we do so courtesy of the boot of the Mazda3! Just kidding. The Mazda's 444 litre boot space is apparently good enough to fit two Jons. But as with any family hauler, space in the rear bench is just as important, and does the Mazda succeed? With flying colours apparently! Those that keep up with our reviews will be well aware that the new Mazda3 has made great strides in interior quality, and likewise, our producers seems fairly impressed with the build quality up at the front. So after all is said and done, do they opt to buy the car? Watch the full video below to find out!
  17. A new report has suggested a hot version of the new Mazda 3 might turn into reality. If true, the car could go on sale in 2021. While we did not get the past generations of Mazdaspeed 3 in Singapore, hot hatch enthusiasts here would surely appreciate Mazda creating such a car for the future. As reported by Autocar, the hot 3 might likely a similar version of the turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder that powers the CX-9 here. Making around 250bhp and 420Nm of torque, it remains unclear if the car would be offered with front or all-wheel drive or maybe even both. It is also not known if it would be paired with a six-speed manual or an automatic. According to Mazda3 program manager Kota Beppu, there’s been significant interest in a hot Mazda 3 from “most developed countries” and he himself would love to have one. He then added on that the car could have more power than some of its rivals but would need to be “responsible and friendly… more friendly than a Golf GTI.”
  18. Hi peeps. I’m looking for lips and skirts for Mazda 3. The very popular workshop will be JDM but find them pricy. Anybody got recommendations for cheaper alternatives? Found one at Empire bodykit. Anybody heard about them before? Thanks!
  19. The all-new Mazda3 makes its world premiere today at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. The fully redesigned model will be rolled out to global markets - beginning with North America - in early 2019. The all-new Mazda3 adopts a matured Kodo design language that embodies the essence of Japanese aesthetics. While the overall design presents a simple, single form, subtle undulations bring the styling to life through shifting light and reflections that glide over the body surface. The result is a richer and more powerful expression of vitality than that seen in previous Kodo models. Despite sharing the Mazda3 name, the hatchback and sedan models have distinct personalities — the design of the hatchback is dynamic, that of the sedan elegant. The all-new Mazda3 adopts Mazda’s new SKYACTIV-Vehicle Architecture, designed to enable people to make the most of their natural sense of balance. The powertrain lineup comprises the latest SKYACTIV-X, SKYACTIV-G and SKYACTIV-D engines, each of which provides smooth, responsive throttle control in any driving situation. Based on its key philosophy of designing the car around the human being, Mazda has dramatically enhanced the car’s fundamental driving attributes such that accelerating, turning and braking all feel completely natural. Having sold over 6 million units1 since its 2003 debut, the Mazda3 is a global strategic model that has driven the company’s growth from both a brand and business perspective. It has delivered Mazda’s renowned driving pleasure to customers all over the world and been a mainstay of global production at key plants. “The all-new Mazda3 we unveil today begins a new era for Mazda,” said Akira Marumoto, Mazda’s Representative Director, President and CEO. “The next generation of Mazda cars will enhance the value of the car-ownership experience. Though these products, we will further raise Mazda’s brand value and work towards our goal of building ever stronger bonds with customers all over the world.”

  25. THREE new Japanese sedans are expected to shake up the COE Category A market when they arrive early next year, just in time for a recategorisation of the small car segment. The launches of the new Toyota Corolla Altis, Mazda3 and Honda City are likely to keep the Cat A COE premium relatively buoyant despite the exit of luxury models, which had been blamed for pushing up prices. Still, most dealers foresee at least a 10 to 15 per cent fall from current certificate of entitlement levels. From February next year, the engines of Cat A cars not only have to be limited in displacement to under 1,600 cc, but their power cannot exceed 97 kW or 130 hp. This means 42 models currently in Cat A are affected and will have to move over to Cat B (for cars above 1,600cc), including luxury rides like Singapore's top model last year, the Mercedes-Benz C180, and the BMW 316i. There will be about 100 models in the new Cat A. With their bigger profit margins, distributors of high-end cars were said to have driven Cat A COE premiums to an all-time high of $92,100 in January this year. The premium has since slipped to $72,609 now. "Next February should see the return of bread-and-butter models from those Japanese and Korean brands which have been priced out of Cat A for over two years," said the sales manager of a mass-market dealership. "There are many prospective upgraders who have been waiting on the sidelines because of high car prices and they should be returning to the market next year." He added that after the new rules kick in, he expects the Cat A COE premium to drop to the $60,000 level. "Also, with the loan curbs still in force, affordability is an issue when the COE premium is high. So when Cat A softens, we will see more people coming back into the showrooms," he said. But will the influx of these buyers keep the Cat A COE premium where it is today? "No, premiums should soften despite the fact that there will be strong demand," said the sales manager. "This is because this group of buyers is not in the same league as those who buy Mercedes-Benz or BMWs. While they are interested in buying a new car, they are not prepared to pay a high price." The general manager of another mass-market dealership agreed. "Those who buy our cars are relatively conservative," he explained. "The moment the Cat A COE goes up too much, they don't want to buy anymore. They can probably still afford it but they just refuse to." If and when the Cat A COE premium falls, what is stopping those buyers of small Mercs and BMWs from looking at the Japanese and Korean offerings instead? "Some of them may consider a Toyota or a Honda, but most of them won't," said the sales manager. "There is this thing called branding and prestige and for them, it does not include a Japanese volume model." The all-new Toyota Corolla Altis will, however, be a bigger and more refined model than the current one, which costs about $120,000 now. The exterior looks like the present Camry mid-sized sedan, while the brand new interior is said to be very roomy because its wheelbase has been lengthened by 100mm to 2,700mm. The 1.6-litre engine is mated to a seven-step continuously variable transmission instead of the old four-speed automatic gearbox. The Thai-made Altis has traditionally been Toyota's best-selling model here. It was the Republic's most popular model from 2002 to 2006. After dropping out in 2007, it remained in the top three until after 2010 as the COE quota contracted substantially. The model is expected to be launched in January. The new Mazda3 is slated to arrive in the first quarter of 2014 from Japan. This 1.5-litre model will feature the familiar SkyActiv technology, which combines efficient engines with a smooth transmission in a lightweight but strong body. As for the new Honda City, it is scheduled for a Q2 introduction here. It has a new platform and new continuously variable transmission (from a five-speed auto previously) but retains its existing 1.5-litre engine. http://www.stcars.sg/guides-articles/motoring-news/3-new-models-may-keep-cat-a-coe-buoyant/a/143457
