  1. TL;DR - A reckless Rolls Royce Cullinan driver puts lives in danger by driving against the traffic flow to skip the long queue. The incident highlights the importance of responsible driving, regardless of the price tag on your car. The sight of a luxurious car is always something to behold, and the Rolls Royce Cullinan is no exception. With a price tag that can reach up to millions of dollars, this SUV is the epitome of opulence and style. However, as the saying goes, "With great power comes great responsibility.". Unfortunately, not everyone seems to understand this, as seen in a recent incident captured on video outside Hwa Chong International School. What happened? In the video, a Rolls Royce Cullinan can be seen driving recklessly, cutting through the long queue of cars by driving against the traffic flow. It was raining heavily then, making the situation even more dangerous. As impressive as the car may be, the driver's behaviour is irresponsible and dangerous. No matter how much one pays for a car, there is no excuse for driving recklessly. The safety of other road users should always be a top priority. It is worth noting that driving or riding against the flow of traffic, as indicated by traffic signs, will get you 6-demerit points with a $200 fine. 2. TL;DR – A Toyota Allion hits the brakes and hazard lights just before an ERP gantry. Netizens try to rationalise this selfish and entitled behaviour. With ERPs back in operation, it is no surprise to see incidents like this occurring. For example, the ERP gantry along the AYE just before or after the Celemti Ave 6 exit. Back when I lived in the West (for a short time), I would always see cars and motorbikes parked near the bus stop or road shoulder to avoid paying the ERP toll. Today’s incident might be a little different, maybe? Let’s watch the minute-long video and find out your opinion. What happened? A Toyota Allion hits the brakes and its hazard lights just before entering an ERP gantry along the PIE at the Mount Pleasant exit. The cam car directly behind the Allion is having none of it, and after blasting two words in Hokkien (hint it involves the female genitalia), he doesn’t hide his displeasure with a long, angry horn. Did the Allion try to evade the toll? I decided to do some research. Honestly, it’s peanuts compared to some ERP gantries closer to or in town. But I digress. Let’s have a look at the time indicated on the gantry in question. It’s 8.41 at $1.00. Yes, the next time period would be $0.50, but do you think the driver is doing that to evade paying $0.50? Is the answer obvious yet? With the facts in front of us, I think it’s highly likely a case of ‘forgot to put the cashcard in the IU'. The charge is $10. I kena before. That being said, I agree that what the Allion did was dangerous for vehicles directly behind it. But the cam car driver could have practiced more patience. He just sounds like a grouch. Online Chatter There are of course people who think it was very inconsiderate and dangerous. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 3. TL:DR – SMRT taxi abruptly stops on lane 1 of an expressway for reasons unknown and causes a massive chain collision in its wake before driving off, oblivious to the destruction it caused behind. There are idiot drivers everywhere Our latest example drives a SMRT taxi. Watch the video below to find out why. Here’s the rear-view camera footage The SMRT taxi abruptly stops just before an ERP gantry on lane 1. The alert cam car driver comes to a complete stop as well. One or two cars manage to avoid crashing into cam car by quickly changing to lane 2 before the chain collision occurs. Only Asian cars involved Besides the cam car (which I cannot identify), there’s a Mazda 3. A Toyota Altis. Or what looks like a Toyota Altis. (It became a hatchback after the crash). And of course, the unsuspecting Honda Fit (poor fella) that crashed into the Altis, causing the chain collision. Facebook Post by driver of Cam Car Online Chatter Upon exploring the comments, we managed to uncover a bit more about the incident. The cam car driver took the time to reply most of the comments. Maybe the taxi driver didn't notice what was happening behind him? He's still an idiot driver though. I needed to translate because my Chinese sucks. Yeah, this is the most likely scenario. If I’m not wrong, he’ll be claiming from the Mazda 3 driver and the Mazda 3 driver will claim from the Toyota Altis. Then the Altis will claim from the Honda Fit. But, what about the main culprit of this incident? The SMRT Taxi driver? ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  4. I guess money can't buy proper road etiquette, can it? On 5th May 2021, a short video was posted on Facebook of an Audi A8 driver driving recklessly along Lower Delta Road. It's so bad that I even experienced some serious second-hand embarrassment from watching it. For those of you who cannot stomach the video, I am going to provide a play-by-play description of the incident below. So, we start off with the camcar driver, who is innocently drives along the road and slows down when approaching a red light at a traffic junction. He stops behind a black Audi A8, which continues to inch forward past the white line with total disregard to the red light. The driver continues to try his luck and even attempts to turn right while there's traffic coming from both sides on the adjacent road. As if realising that there's no way the universe will let it turn right, the Audi suddenly reverses and almost hits the camcar. Once the lights turn green, the Audi wastes no time zooming ahead without stopping at the right turn pocket. The driver positions the Audi dangerously near oncoming vehicles as if asking for an accident to happen. The Audi edged so far into the lane with oncoming traffic that it even made a silver vehicle stop dead in its tracks to avoid a collision. To carry on forward, the silver car had to manoeuvre itself around the Audi in an awkward fashion. If you thought that was all, think again. There's more! When the Audi driver saw an empty pocket of space, it sped off to complete the right turn, but there were two oncoming vehicles that could have crashed into the Audi if they had gone any faster. Netizens quickly took to the comments to voice their opinions (with some speculating that the Audi driver is either drunk, high or does not have a driving license): Simplified translation: 'You have to wait for death if you want to reincarnate, what's the rush?' What do you guys think of this road menace?
  5. Is it just me or has there been an increase in idiot drivers in Singapore lately? In a video uploaded on Roads.sg, a Honda Vezel can be seen driving against the flow of traffic along Onan Road (near Joo Chiat-ish). In case you haven’t seen the video, here you go Video taken from Roads'sg YouTube channel According to the accompanying caption on Roads.sg, this happened at 1840hrs (that’s 6.40pm) Apparently, on this road, it seems to be the “norm” and these offences are allegedly committed by residents. Idiot driver? Indeed. Comments taken from Roads.sg Facebook Page But wait, there’s more! An image of yet another car going against traffic. This time from All Singapore Stuff’s Facebook page. Image taken from All Singapore Stuff Facebook Page The car in question, a Toyota Altis, can be seen facing the wrong way (notice the “SLOW” marking on the road?). This incident happened at Holland Flyover. On an unrelated note, did you notice the human at the background? I digress. Back to the topic at hand, we did some digging and driving against the flow of traffic is labelled as “Dangerous Driving”. The penalties are as follows if you’re a “non-serious offender”, which means you were not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Serious offenders naturally will have longer jail term and stiffer fines. So please, don’t be an idiot.
  6. Just now was filtering out left from outram road into chin swee, right lane is into CTE tunnel, then there are cars turning right the other way from outram into the tunnel or chin swee. This particular idiot, driving a nissan latio, if i am not wrong, was still at the right turn box outer lane, i estimated about 2-3 cars length away, so i just filtered out into chin swee. Soon, he caught up behind and then blasted the horn at me for nobody business. Common lah, about 3 cars length away, really eyes got problem. I think hes just not happy someone is faster than him. So i just slowed down to see what he will do. Just as i predicted, he drove beside me, then slowed down and blasted his horns again. I simply cant be bother to look at him and just carried on driving into the carpark at jln kukoh. Never follow me in leh, if he followed, then i really have a lot of time to play with him, the police HQ is just nearby, will ask him to follow me there if he want to play.
