Mini-itx Clutched May 24, 2010 Share May 24, 2010 Yes, this thing does work to save fuel. Its not a gimmick. However, what this device does is exactly the same as what your right foot does. Just like what the pic says, if you step 20% acc, its 11% in eco mode. Then why don't you just step 11% instead?
Kungfu Clutched May 26, 2010 Author Share May 26, 2010 But how do we know it's when we already stepping 11%?????????
Melvyn Neutral Newbie May 26, 2010 Share May 26, 2010 In the first place is your car a DBW instead of DBC? Only works on DBW rides. When you step on the throttle, assuming you press 50%, the different modes adjusts the throttle accordingly to, for a lack of a better word, "cheat" the car into: 1) sensing you're stepping 75% in sports mode 2) sensing you're stepping 30% in eco mode etc etc. So in short, if you've the spare money to spend on this then good for you. Otherwise, as the bro above mentioned, juz step lighter and dun accelerate so fast by pressing the pedal lighter lor. No need for exact 11% or 17.5%. Can juz use eyes see the revs dun go above, say, 3K RPM etc or use ears to hear that the XOS dun roar etc since your aim is to save consumption. However, if you're aiming to make ur DBW car livelier then can be considered of certain use since only a little depression of the pedal is enough for the throttle to go. But ultimately is still no HP added. Juz that the egine thinks you're stepping full throttle only. ↡ Advertisement
