When I got promoted to Sales Manager, I became more deskbound and that happened on the 25th month of car rental, which was good cos I could RETURN the car and cease the rental/leasing. So I bought an OPC car, cos I leave office at 9pm everyday, so I push myself to go in earlier from 8am to 7am, eat breakfast with one of my colleague who also drives OPC and go back office read newspaper, surf internet and start work....

Hmm thanks for sharing... The traffic before sun fully rise is much better than the times where ERP is activated right?

I do have plans to buy a OPC to do similar things. [:p]

Yup early morning not so crowded unless you are heading to Tuas or Jurong... I had a work stint at Pandan Loop for 1 month... I leave home at 6.10am everyday, usually arrive office around 6.30am, then i sleep in my car, drink coffee and read newspapers... sometimes jam until quite bad but always manage to reach office by 6.50am. My old workplace has 2 ERP gantries, I have to leave home LATEST 6.30am to get to the carpark at 6.35am... Cos it takes 10 minutes to get to office if I do not get stuck in all traffic lights. Exiting highway i get 3 traffic lights to get to the office carpark. Usually 15 minutes to reach office cos sure will kenah 1 light... But i ever cross into 6.58am, then I was 2 traffic light away, I straightaway tore coupon... Cos I rather spend the $20 then to kenah summon for $10000.... Now buy at AXS, not strict as last time, no coupon while driving off you go to court...

Now my new office takes me 20 minutes to get to work due to a few idiots that i confirm meet on the way to work and 7 traffic lights plus one erp gantry, so for you must plan properly. If you need 20 minutes to get to work, please dun leave home late with 15 minutes to get to office or exactly 20 minutes. Must give yourself 10 minutes extra just in case you meet road hoggers, unless you are willing to pay $20. Remember that 7.01am if they see you on the road, you will get fined... I know of someone who reach Woodlands checkpoint at 6.20am on a Saturday (that time got no free Saturday to drive) and kenah stuck in a VERY bad jam till 7.07am (that time still coupon system), straight away kenah fined on Tuesday. Registered mail ask to go court... Told the judge that usually 6.20am reach checkpoint quite ok, only that day very bad jam and he never keep extra coupon in the car... Judge reduce fine from $8000 to $1000... No excuse! but still cheaper than pay $8000.

So I suggest dun cheat the govt. If they catch you at 7.00am they will fine you and have every right to do so. Cos FROM 7am-7pm... Its NOT stated as AFTER 7am- After 7pm. If its FROM 7am, means you can only drive your car up till 6.59am. I bought an additional clock to put in my car from autobacs to sync my clock with ERP timing except its 1 minute faster :)

Good luck!!!

You just bought your car???

If i am not wrong the last time road tax for 1.3cc should be $50/year plus radio licence $20... Can anyone driving a 1.3 confirm this? If you pay $90/year might be revised OPC.

Suggest you check the OPC road tax decal in red....

New revised scheme is rebate 500 bucks off ur road tax.

jus take whatever your cc normal road tax minus off 500, thats your revised opc scheme.

for 1.3, u need to see if its 1339 then yes 90 bucks is the revised opc cos normal is 590, minus 500 gives u 90.

hope it helps.

lta number is there for u guys to call mah, they so free... just call them..

is it? cool.. no wonder my neighbours drive 2.4cc car never convert cos the road tax is sooo high if convert.. cos only $500.. so if normal is $1200, then converted will be $800... ahhh thats why..

but 1.1cc car is $420 road tax, i dun think they qualify for the $500 off from normal road tax... there should be a minimum.. cos minimun is $50 for opc and revise opc minimum is $70... hmmmm maybe i shld call and ask them how they count hehehee

Have been driving opc for 4yrs, suits my lifestyle well. Since i need report for work at 715 i just go earlier and get to office before 7am. N work is so busy i usually still working at 7pm. N traffic so much smoother than after 7am. Just need to make sure i give 10mins allowance in case got unusual traffic conditions. So far only once i missed by 1min, coz it was raining there was a jam outside workplace, i was stuck just outside the gate when it hit 7am, so i bought the day licence, just in case, dun take risk. Driving opcis so much better than taking public transport, so packed even at 6+am...my god!

I've asked this question on here before but no answer so today rang LTA and asked if I move my car within HDB MSCP do I need to buy e Day license.

Answer was - even if you move car inside HDB MSCP from one parking bay to adjacent parking bay then you need to buy E day licence.

By Law YES,but,if really move from one lot to another, who cares.?I owned a OPC,parked on the Roadside everyday,a few times, the SP/Singtel Contractors ask me to move the Car along the same Road, also no buy E-Ticket..nothing happened.

Up to you how you handle the answer.

I know I won't move without E day license.
