Fishman 1st Gear August 12, 2010 Share August 12, 2010 I heard from a friend... lift up your wipers when parking in the open. This reduces the heat transfer from the windscreen to the rubber blades, and hence reduce the rate of deterioration of the rubber. A little troublesome but I soon got used to it. ↡ Advertisement
Redstorm 1st Gear August 12, 2010 Share August 12, 2010 i chg there oso last month, PIAA silicon type 1 pair $37.50 , used back the metal frame. so far ok wiper no jumping n is clean n water line or dot. Two days ago, while I was topping up at the Shell station, just after the Johor CIQ, I changed to a new pair of silicon wiper at RM42 (S$18.00). The gal, who is moving around in the station offering wiper changing service, is always there, except Sat, from 11am onwards. She used to be at the Caltex station before the old CIQ and I used to get my wiper replaced by her.
5936 1st Gear August 12, 2010 Share August 12, 2010 Sorry, I like to add that. This is a good way to prevent dirt and rubber damage form contact with high temp windscreen Have you seen or heard windscreen smashed up this way? Technically not possible due to buffers from rubber blades. But it did happened before, if it slamp down hard correct landing, and the wiper's metal frame hit windscreen. Drivers must decide. Opel17 6th Gear August 12, 2010 Share August 12, 2010 I heard from a friend... lift up your wipers when parking in the open. This reduces the heat transfer from the windscreen to the rubber blades, and hence reduce the rate of deterioration of the rubber. A little troublesome but I soon got used to it. I can't remember where I saw those small clip that attach to wiper, you manually "jack" up the wiper, when the wiper is operated, the clip will simply lower the wiper, and you manually "jack" up at the next stop/park. Opel17 6th Gear August 12, 2010 Share August 12, 2010 I used those "wash & shine" car shampoo which claim to contain wax. So immediately after washing car, I would wipe the windscreen with window cleaner to remove the wax [if any].

Ehchang8 Neutral Newbie August 13, 2010 Share August 13, 2010 is this useful? i feel it's better than just water, because it can get rid of the oil on the windscreen. i don't really wash my car, that's why sometime windscreen became little oily. Fcw75 Hypersonic August 13, 2010 Share August 13, 2010 how abt Stamford and autoba_cs. What sizes to look for? Autobacs dun have Denso also. Only have Bosch and it's not cheap there. The Bosch wipers no good, the metal frame will fade in colour. Made in China one. I looking for 19" and 21", also can't find.
