Turbocharged

Did you know that a new coat of paint on a 1600cc saloon like Lancer or Altis adds 6kg to the total weight of your car?

There is minimal weight increaseonly if the workshop strips the paint to the bare metal before respraying.

In most cases, they just sandpaper off the top laquer layer for the paint to adhere to the existing paint.

sounds like next time after respray, i have to take out a few things from the car to cut weights:-

rubber floor matt at rear seats, remove ICE, throw away spare tire, only fill 1-quarter tank.......... no passengers ... hopefully these steps help

Last year I added 10kg to my room walls.

Used up two 5liters can of Dulux paint for my room.

So 6kg...per car.....should be about right.

Can be negated by pumping 6liters lesser fuel each time lah!

Paint is denser than water so your 2 x 5 litres dulux is more than 10kg :D
