Change Battery

I just change my battery on Saturday evening after it went dead when I try to start the car after work. Luckily mine is a manual car so can easily be push started even when the battery is flat. Infact I had been warn during my last servicing end of last year that the battery is weak and needed to be change but hey I manage to squeeze about 5 more month out of it.

Went to Alexandra to check and the first shop sell the japanese brand FB, was quoted $150 but I never heard of this before so I bought at the next shop which sell Bosch brand also $150 which I know is a popular brand for car parts but this is of a higher capacity of 75AH and currently my CS3 is using a Varta 60AH which I change in Oct 2008 by C&C for only $140.

Just to share the mechanics ask me to start the car and just let the engine running before swapping the batteries as he say this would prevent all the memories setting like radio and clock to be resetted.

Wanted to check, is it a reasonable price for my battery? Also by using a higher capacity battery what are the advantages and more impotantly any disadvantages? They claim that it is better.

Thanks.
