B4 GE Solie Here & There...After GE & In Power, Solie Simi??

This is the scenario many fellow citizens & myself worry after the present GE is over.

In all likelihood the ruling party will be returned to power though it may, & many of us think, lose some seats to the opposition.

Many of us are cautiously surprised to hear quite a few misgivings about some mistakes made coming out from his own ministers after the A-Team leader offered his personal apologies over them just 4 days before the GE.

About time.

Granted that many folks, by nature nice & easy to forgive, have let them off the hook thus winning them many such sympathy votes over, some of us are quite skeptical about the promised changes which they say will happen after the present GE.

Can an all-mighty-whiter-than-white-can-do-NO-wrong political party change over night & seemingly repenting over some controversial policies which caused a lot of resentment on the ground?

Given that they have 5 long years to do that but did not & only does that 4 days before polling day because the ground is apparently not sweet?

The greatest fear is that they are some how given a strong mandate & takes a clean sweep over the remaining 82 seats in parliament.

In this case, will it be a " Yes we said sorry........but we still think it is a good policy even though it is unpopular & wish to remind you that we have been given a strong mandate so we will continue to implement it."

Hope I am wrong about it....

Neutral Newbie

For the pass few elections, the PAP were declared the government on nomination day due to not many opp contesting against them. So people are more daring to vote for opp parties cos they knew nothing serious will happen after polling day even if a few opp gets elected in.

But this election, only TP is not contested, so we can say there is no government at the moment until after the election.

Though we see many opp supporters, the results might not be what we thought it should be. The mentality will be, since so many opp supporters better vote PAP in case they get voted out of government.

This group of voters are mainly consist of middle to higher income voters who invested in stocks, properties and other investment products. Yes, they might be unhappy, they also want opp in parliament but they will not want to put their investments at risk in case a freak result resulting in an inbalance parliament.

I dont belong to this group of voters.

So dont be surprise if the result is 87-0.

What freak result r u talking abt...For last parliament only 2 seats go to OPPOSITION when >30% of S'poreans support opposition. Tat's wat i call freak result...cos they play dirty, using GRC

If MIW claims themselves 2 b so good n they have mandate of S'poreans, revert back to SMC n fight 1 to 1

Mis-pronounced: sorry

No one admitted any mistake if you read carefully

No one apologised if you read carefully

The joke is on voters who vote for them to return

Time has changed to time for their retirement.

They did not consider why these apologies are offered just 4 days before polling day...

I know more than 60% of people of my company will not vote for PAP. In fact, they wouldn't vote for anyone because they can't!

As fully grown men, if they were sincere and genuine about the apologies, they should have done it there and then when the mistakes were committed, not wait till now when pressures mounted and votes are badly needed to save their face.....

............ if they were 3 years olds, maybe the belated sorry is acceptable.
