Coil over recommendation

Dear all,

Currently driving a 2007 WRX, front suspension giving way. got knocking sound and increased body roll.

My friend 2007 Swift Sport also similar, so both of us are looking at changing to a coil over system.

Can anyone recommend any suitable coil-over system and the associated workshops to get it done. Will appreciate if you able to give the specific model or series.

Criteria will be:

Cornering stability and durability. Both of us do not track. looking for something a tad stiffer and harder than our stock suspension but not to extend that will puke.

Budget is around $2k for front and back coil over. hope this is a realistic budget.

Tried reading up but seems like there are too many variant and different car model owner got different opinion. So i am zooming it in for WRX and Swift sport. do let us know which will be a good system for our cars.

API rs good for street, bc br is also good. D2 will be very harsh. These are ard 1.4k w installation

Just take note the spring rate front 7-8kg rear 5-7kg would be more to comfort

Those ard 12 kg front 10kg rear will be for track

BC BR-Yon can get it from Racetech or now known as New Fong Khim at UBI..you can search for some of the comments posted on them..good but can be a little squeaky

you may want to change the stock spring or parts that are causing the problem. in my experience coil overs require a fair bit of maintenance and will have higher wear and tear down the road compared to a stock suspension, which is fine , if you are looking for performance but if you are happy with the stock suspension, sticking to a stock set up is more efficient in the long run.

bro thanks for your advice. think my damper is the one that giving way.

Think i like to try coil over for a change for more feel hehe. heart itchy hahah

I am fine if the coil over can last me 3 years. to change 1 set 3 years seems reasonable. not expecting miracle out of them hehe

xie xie for advice.

Not very sure on the BC but I'm running SS. The softest damper setting is even more comfortable than my stock suspension. Cant complain at all for 1.4k delivered.

3 years? Things like this I would expect more than 5years easy. Anyway I dont have any previous experience so probably cant comment much.

I beg to differ for D2. It is ok. Not exactly stiffer if you tuned to about 14 clicks. Forget abt BC. I'll rather get D2 over BC.

However for a budget of 2k, I recommend Tein Super Street. As the name suggests, it's for street driving.
