PS: contrary to what some people said, in shock only mode, the unit records the event up to 2 seconds before the shock is detected; i.e. not after the shock is detected. E.g. when someone knock or kick your car at 01:12:32 AM, you will have an event file starting at 01:12:30 AM, 2 seconds before the event.

 

hmm....2 sec only? my blackvue record 30sec before and 30sec after the event (motion or shock detection), 2 sec a bit too short IMO....the object that hit your car may be too close to be captured?

Recently, I brought 1 mirco SD (for my phone, 32GB, class 4) from Popular near to my place. Cost me about $36. If you guys go to SLS just for a piece of SD card, do you think worth it? You need to consider petrol, parking fee, ERP, your precious time & etc. If you are going there for more than 1 purpose, of course it is worth the trip. Just my 0.002 cent worth of comments. The motion detector would have capture the object before it moves towards & hits your car.

 

like what Gunny76 said, if you park at open space and found that motion detection capture too much events for your liking, you can't just depends on shock detection with just 2 sec before the event.

 

btw, how many sec the camera will record AFTER the event?

Minimumly 58 sec after the event. The recording file is 1 minute. so you'll see a file that look like this:

 

|--2sec before event--|--evt--|-------------------------------------------------58sec after event-----------------------------------------------------|

 

From my observation, the cam decides whether it's parking mode or normal driving mode based on how long the XYZ axis got constant movement. Look at the bottom bar of your PC Player, you'll know what I mean. Whenever there is a prolong movement of the axis, the cam will switch to normal mode. So if after the event the cam doesn't switch to normal mode, you'll only have 58 sec of recording after the event. If the cam switch to normal mode, you'll have at least 58 sec + 5 minutes of recording.

Seems like there's a new model of the itb-100 already.

The newer version (itb-100hd sp) now records in 30fps instead of 24fps.

Can google for more information of it online.

However, it appears to cost significantly more than the present model.

btw, just wondering is any bros here park at open space carparks? am wondering if the heat will make the set deteriorate faster, since it's sticks onto the windscreen... i doubt i can fix it on the roof.. the rear mirror will be blocking the view.

I just ordered the ITB-100HD SP from ohmyblackbox.

Wonder if its gonna be here fast. Anyone what is the biggest memory card it can support? 64gb?

 

It doesnt come with any power magic or UPS. So i ordered the Power Magic Pro to couple with it.
