The new 2026 model of Xpeng's X9 has been released in China here: https://carnewschina.com/2026/01/29/2026-xpeng-x9-ev-pre-order-opens-up-to-750-km-range-3-turing-ai-chips-active-rear-wheel-steering/

The new 2026 model looks different at the front. It includes a new silver front bumper trim and decorative bars in the side cutouts to replace the old LiDAR areas. So no more LIDAR and only using cameras for a vision only Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS). Computing power has increased significantly with 3 Turing AI chips and a combined computing power of 2,250 TOPS.  Two of these chips will be used to power the VLA (Vision-Language-Action) AI model for advanced driving assistance functions, and the third one will power the VLM AI model for the intelligent cockpit.

The X9 has a tire blowout stability system. It allows the X9 to maintain stable driving after a tire blowout under extreme conditions such as wet roads at 160 km/h, heavy rain at 150 km/h, and icy roads at 120 km/h. Both the automatic emergency braking and automatic emergency steering systems support operating speeds up to 130 km/h.

Length has increased by +23mm.

The high voltage battery pack is from CALB-Tech and the capacity has increased to 110 kWh with the same NMC chemistry. There in now +5kWhr more energy than the 2025 model.

Range has increased to 750 km (CLTC) or about 615km (WLTP). +25km more range than the 2025 model.

FWD version has a curb weight of 2,685 kg. (+95kg more heavier than the 2025 model)

The 2026 model now has 5C DC fast charging battery (+1C more than 2025 model). Can do 10% to 80% in 11.7 minutes (-8.3 minutes faster than than the 2025 model, this despite having a larger capacity battery). Almost a 50% reduction in DC fast charging time!:a-happy:

Xpeng claims energy consumption has improved to a low 15.9 kWhr / 100 km (-1.3 kWhr / 100km from 2025 model). Don't know if this has been proven yet and is suspiciously low, given that the curb weight has gone up +95kg. Must have a light foot to get this number.

The 2026 model's 2nd row seating is now standardized to a 14-way electric zero-gravity seats with one-touch recline, ventilation, and massage.

There are now dual 50W wireless charging pads at the front and folding tables for the second row are now standard on the 2026 model.

Everything else looks to be the same - which is a good thing.👍

In China, the 2026 X9 starts at 309,800 yuan (USD$45,010), matching the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) version introduced at the end of 2025. Represents a 50,000 yuan, or 13.90%, price cut from the older pure electric X9.

So expecting the OMV of the new 2026 X9 to drop once it comes over to the shores of Singapore.

Cost breakdown on the X9 is below for last month (Feb-2026). This is when the PARF bomb came into reality.

image.thumb.png.d26bb5f6b5769c18b36ac7bd0f5c2436.png

X9 Premium basic cost before CoE and dealer margin works out to around $156.6k. +/- depending on OMV fluctuation for the month. Add to this an agreed future CoE bid value and negotiated dealer margin to get to the final price. The Feb-2026 gross margin on the X9 Premium is at 129% of OMV, Premium Auto / XPremium BEV is earning a gross profit of $83.4k per ride! It's a lucrative business being a new ride seller in Singapore. The money jiāngshī (吸血鬼) margin is truly gross...🤮

Can confirm that Premium Auto / XPremium BEV is making triple digit margin and getting the exclusive money jiāngshī (吸血鬼) 🧛‍♀️ rating...

For the month of Feb-2026, its very nice of Premium Auto / / XPremium BEV to pass the PARF loss across to new owners, whilst increasing their money jiāngshī (吸血鬼) 🧛‍♀️ margin from the previous month (by makaning the drop in Cat B CoE price) - a double whammy!👺 As if makening the $30k VES/EEAI rebates isn't enough already...☹️

Thanks to the PARF bomb, new X9 Premium owners are going to get hit a $30.6k loss and will face higher depreciation charge. Around $3k extra loss per year over a CoE lifespan.

YouTube video review of the older X9 in Malaysia from fellow car enthusiast (Bobby Ang) is here:

Ride and handling is covered as well as the rear wheel steering demonstration on a tight U-turn.

Has all the nice features to make it a good family 7 MPV with self parking demonstrated towards the end of the video.
