I am using stock ECU and I think the ECU might compensate and then "shift" itself back to normal again. So ecotek or airmax after a few weeks become a waste of money. Please advise. Thanks! Modeldriver Neutral Newbie September 20, 2003 Share September 20, 2003 that's what some people say... in my case though not really, because I've got a piggy back to my ECU that overrides the ECU's a/f ratios... which means I can maintain the same performance level set after a dyno tuning. on the other hand, makes me wonder on the claim. The ECU basically controls a certain a/f mix, which is usually on the rich side. putting something like this in leans out the mix. If the 'leak' comes in after the air flow sensor, then the ECU won't know about it, and the improvement should remain. If it is not, the ECU may compensate by injecting more fuel, but then you still get good performance w/o stepping as hard on the accelerator in theory ? Of course, there's also the Ecotek and airmax loosing effectiveness from its own filter getting clogged up ! Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

If not, we could easily overrev and thus waste even more fuel. So in your opinion, should we go for the piggyback first or should we put in airmax or ecotek before we do the piggyback? Esky Neutral Newbie September 22, 2003 Share September 22, 2003 They don't "force" more air into the intake system, only "let" in more air by utilising the vacuum in the PCV. MicroCompressor's name may make it sound like it compresses the air just a micro bit, but I doubt it, as there's nothing in it that compresses air. Andrewkb Neutral Newbie September 22, 2003 Share September 22, 2003 By pure fluid dynamic explanation, by having a cone shape funnel, does air "automatically" get compressed as it goes narrower through the cone or does it just let a fixed amount of air through in a "queue" ? Andrewkb Neutral Newbie September 22, 2003 Share September 22, 2003 If you put your palm on the MicroCompressor, it can get sucked in and requires considerable force to remove your palm .. if these air are not going anywhere (bypass), the only path is into the engine ... and through the 5mm tube, it had to be compressed right ?
