Mondeost220 Neutral Newbie September 10, 2003 Share September 10, 2003 SUI ! looks like the engineers have spent alot of time on designing the components so as to fit the 3.2L drivetrain into that space that's meant for 1.6L to 2.0L.... volkswagen engineers[thumbsup]

Renegade Neutral Newbie September 11, 2003 Share September 11, 2003 Looks good... but I find the general shape, lines and curves looks like the 147 Yup, especially around the c-pillar area. Wonder if these models will ever make here. Heard that the relatively high sulphur content in local fuels and the FSI engines don't go down well together.... Voxy28 3rd Gear September 17, 2003 Share September 17, 2003 (edited) Well... the high sulphur content in our fuel also meant that Singapore is not yet Euro 4 compliant. Sometimes I wonder what is our LTA doing. In Europe everyone buys a diesel engine and currently the US. Diesel is cheaper to maintain and Euro 4 compliant, which is cleaner than most car on our roads. Nowadays all car got no resale value lah... My friend Sunny bought at 96k, sell at 50k after 2 years +.... So the best is to buy the car you like and drive long long. The engine is a 2.0l FSI turbo charge coupled with DSG transmission, which is like a launch control in F1... I think But I think the mesh looks a bit out of place and should be replace by straight line grill. Edited September 17, 2003 by Voxy28
Cloverleaf Neutral Newbie September 17, 2003 Share September 17, 2003 i really wonder how this high sulphur content in our local fuel is how true .... australia has much lower grade of fuel and their sulphur content is also high, but they are running euro 4, FSI, JTS etc etc without problems? unless their cars are tweaked to suit their local fuel? anyone knows? Seansene 1st Gear September 19, 2003 Share September 19, 2003 Not launch control. It's a double-clutch gearbox that allows for much smoother shifts. First used in the Audi TT V6

Zrun Neutral Newbie September 21, 2003 Share September 21, 2003 (edited) I think it is abit ugly... For those kind of design, the best is in chrome, and curved surface instead of flat, so when it is spinning, the chrome reflection will glitter blind your eyes .. That's also a symbol of bling bling lifestyle... http://www.southend.wayne.edu/days/2003/ma...ling/bling.html http://store1.yimg.com/I/speedandstyle_1757_6219792 Edited September 21, 2003 by Zrun
Super7 Turbocharged September 21, 2003 Share September 21, 2003 double-clutch system!!?..... for faster take off, or smoother operation?? ..... things are really getting complicated and likely to cost more to produce and maintain.... what's wrong with the good old normal clutch system we have for years, seems ok and serves us well leh.... if it aint broken, dun fix it mah....keep things simple
Buzz Neutral Newbie September 21, 2003 Share September 21, 2003 Wow, wonder how much it cost leh very chio inside, but i dun like t outside Wonder izzit problem car My friend passat after two year he give up his car sold liao Hope Vw dun give ppl problem car... Yup such a premium brand and their cars are not up to par with Japanese models. I know a Bora V5 that goes back to agent almost every other week. Problems might be minor but the hassle. Worst was 2 windows just drop down. ↡ Advertisement
