Hi Matrixian,

To calculate the milage per km is as follows :

Example :

Travelling : 390km

Petrol pump full tank at 43.5liters

= 390(travelling) / 43.5(Petol top up liters)

Sum = 8.965km/liters

Hope this clear your doubt. [bounce2][bounce2][bounce2]

Hi Kiatmobile,

Thanks so much. Got nit. Calculated mine as follows:

Travelling : 450 km

Petrol : 44

Sum : 10 km/l

Is it normal to have this milege?

Hi, matrixian smile.gif

as for matrix, due to it heavy car body, its fuel comsumption is higher.

my FC for the first 4 top-up are between 9.1 to 9.7, 3 weeks on the road travelling 1850km. ( 80%Hw, 20%city)

I expect my FC improve to around 11 km/l after 10000km.

if you drive in city traffic, that might be the reason why

it is lower. Also u might be fully loaded all the time. Very diff to compare agst

others as they have diffrent driving habits and load plus entirely diff traffic conditions

Hi Whitecat,

I have travelled more thaan 10,000 km, so I guess it should be better right?

BTW, how much should I pump air for the tyre? Thanks.

10000km, engine already run-in. if the next 4 top-up, the FC is still around 10km/l, then you can consider to do some modification( grounding, fuel magnet, air-con compressor treatment, K&N air filter, etc.) But dont expect too much from the Mod. every Mod. can give you 5 to 10% FC improvement is consider very good.

As for tyre pressure, you can pump it to 36PSI for economy drive

Were you at Bishan AGA last Friday?

Hi Whitecat,

Thanks. At this moment I don't intend to do any mod. I sill want to maintain as it is as the car is still new.

I guess it's due to the tyre as I realised that it's smoother after I pump some air last Sat. Will calculate the milege again.

Nope I was not at BIshan AGA last Friday.

Dear All,

Glad to join in this forum...However start to worry about the fuel consumption for Matrix after reading all the advice and information [confused]. I have just booked a Matrix and confirm will get my Matrix next week. I purchase at $67,888 and COE bid at $28,300 ( with accessories except s/rims)..can anyone tell me if the deal is fair.. [crazy] I booked at $67,3888 and was told to increase another 500 to have a btter chance of geting the COE. I did but regret as yesterday COE drop instead of going North as what the guy predict.Seems to be cheat..anyway I am anxious to get my Matrix next week and start to worry about the FC [:/] Anyway I am gald to join this forum and will try to join the Matrix club as well..see you guys..

Hi City,

Welcome to MCF.Glad that you bought a Matrix.

I was told that the milege will be high for new cars (mine is an 8 mth old Matrix).

So far I'm happy with my blackie and still in love with her [inlove] . As it's spacious, comfy and best of all affordable, [thumbsup] you can now see there are more and more Matrix on the road now. It's really a family car.

About the fuel consumption, that was what worries me initially [:(] . But not so bad actually... given the big body and it's spaciousness..mine about 10km/l. [sunny]

Is yr babe auto/manual? Wat colour? Anyway, dun worry.. just enjoy your ride in yr new car. [;)]
