New Galant

Took delivery of a new Galant 2.0GDI VRG today.

Without the sports package, I got Yokohama A539 (205/50R16) with RacingHart M6 Monoblock. 16" with stock springs really look quite cartoon with Galant's wheel wells .. Planning 17" upgrade with lowering (Sachs Sporting Kit? [where?]) Also, what can I trade-in these 16" (tires+rims) for?

Spare tire is a Bridgestone Potenza 15"??

Factory-fitted keyless entry is piggy-back by a local made alarm system called Cheetah made by a "Yatz Electronics". See link.

The factory-fitted sunroof is quite cool. Besides the normal fully open and fully closed positions, it can (a) front-end remain close, back-end tilt open, and (b) stop the opening motion at any point to make it partially open.

Suncool is default, installed by Vistica @ Sin Ming Dr with seven (7) years warranty. Cycle&Carriage paid them SGD950, according to the invoice.

CD Changer is a 10-disc unit KDC-C717 by Kenwood. HU is a KRC-665 (1DIN) (see link) but this is a bo-bo as I'm supposed to get a 2DIN Kenwood (likely to be a DPX-4020 unit). Going back Pandan Gardens next week to rectify this.

That's good man! [cool]

Abt the rims, how abt checking with YHI whether you can switch into a bigger one, since the Racing Hart is from them. I think Enkei is brought in by them too, so you will have a wide choice, not to mention OZ!

You've gotta check with Sparetyre about the lowering project.

$950! That's exactly what I paid for my V-Kool premium when I got my car 2 yrs ago. Didn't know Sun Cool is that expensive! [shocked]

Cheers and happy driving! Use the 'Steptronic' or whatever Mitsu-speak more! [;)]

Does YHI do trade-in?

Since I want to do both lower and 17" upgrade, does it matter the order? Or do both on the same day?

Not sure, but I doubt the actual price is $950 though that's what Cycle&Carriage <-> Vistica invoice says, which is attached to the SunCool warranty card given to me.

I'm sure YHI does trade in. Just check with them.

Rims/tyres and lowering are usually done at different places. Don't need to do at the same day. Maybe the rims first, drive ard to learn the handling, take your time to look for suspension before changing the suspension. Best is not to rush into things! [;)]

OMV is $24,500 which is abt $1,300 higher than normal Galant bec I've sunroof from the factory.

Cycle&Carriage gave me the $42,043 Open-Cat COE in the last bid exercise in April, so my car is not under the new scheme. My PARF is therefore 80% of OMV, and not 50% of ARF.

Depreciation is abt $8.6K/yr for full 10 yrs; less for <10 yrs since COE is high.

Wow!! for that babe... very good deal!! thumbsup.gif

Not too bad .. based on standard calculation, with $24500 OMV and $42043 COE, Cycle&Carriage is making a lost of some $4000 on me.wink.gif Then again, based on their relationship with Mits, they probably get something somewhere ..

That's for sure.... no reason for them to do business... and lose $$ right?

Wah Nice. But the New VR much more niceR!!!! your tires look a bit smallish for the ride though. You really gotta change the rims and tyre size. [scholar]
