Neutral Newbie

Hi everyone......I am a P plate driver....Just passed less than 1 month. I have a bad experience today. I was driving home at Lim chu kang road after sending my bro to the camp. Then i was driving like 90km/h-100km/h......However......suddenly...a car just almost wanted to cut into the lane i was driving which is the 1st lane....So i add the gas.....to ard 120km/h.........I didnt know i hit 120km/h then so after seeing it at the speedometer, i immedialely brake to 80km/h......I was very worried because i was scard to be caught for speeding.....Its the first time for me. I was driving my dad's car.....I dont think any TP came and stopped me.

So if i am caught for speeding....What is the likely penalties? And around when would i receive my letter of fine by TP.....Would i need to face any court charges? i am worrried because i dont know how to explain to my dad .

just a suggestion... since u still new to driving.. don risk your life and also your lic... if u commit any major offense during yr probation period... yr lic will be gone.. just use this period to understand singapore road and follow rules... don let yr ego overtake yr mind... If want to race don scare of getting caught.. if scare don race...

Dont need to rush. If need to why not go out earlier?

Also if people want to cut in then let them be. Be responsible and also you are the driver you need to take care of the people who are togehter with you. They entrust their life in your hand. So do drive safety and carefully. ^_^

You can check out the list of places where speed cameras may be deployed at the SPF website (under TP). It is not possible to deploy a speed camera at Lim Chu Kang as there is no overhead bridge. If you were caught, the WRX with the siren would have caught you on the spot. Lim Chu Kang's speed limit is 70kmph. Also, they don't deploy speed cameras on overhead bridges at night.

Besides, control your emotions when you drive. You must discipline yourself to regulate your speed irrespective of external factors. Discipline yourself to drive behind a lorry. When you drive a high performance car, this will become very evident. Nobody drives at 200+ kmph on a regular emotional basis and gets away with it. Which is why you often see many performance cars driving very slowly in the left most lane on the highway, it's about discipline and restraint.

I notice the list of speed cameras here is longer than on the TP website. Whilst I'm not legally trained, wouldn't this be a form of entrapment?

Logic - Authorities display on their website where they may deploy laser camera, but actually they deploy laser camera somewhere else. This has the effect of leading people to think that certain roads are safer to speed. Whilst it's not legal to speed, if there had not been such a disclosure of possible sites on-line, the offender might though that laser cameras could have been anyway, and hence not speed in the first place.

all cameras in SG are entrapment la whether or not they come out the list.

the list is near to bloody useless! almost all main roads

except those static ones on highways.
