I also just got my Accent 1.3M last week. It's red in colour [;)] Managed to only get my SE to throw in a free upgrade to 13" sports rim and reverse sensors. If you ask me anything else to get, it would be V Kool and MP3 head unit + a good set of component speakers.

So far, nothing much to complain about. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised that the 2003 model seems better than my previous 2000 model. Not only is the face plate better looking, the back also looks nicer, with rounded rear lamps. The ride seems quieter too. Dunno abt FC yet, haven't got chance to top up yet. My only complaint so far is that the speakers really sucks, much worse than my previous Accent [:/]. Sigh...

Hi there,

I have just secured my COE yesterday and my Accent will be arriving in 2 weeks time.

It's black colour, 1.3M.

How can i enhance the look of it? What are the kind of accessories that i should buy?

Pls advise me. Also would like to find out on the fuel consumption and fellow Accent owners, do give me valuable feedback on this car.

Thanks.

Aiya the Hyundai car mats are crap [shakehead] Mine started to fray at the edges after 3 months of usage.

I drove a 1.3 M accent for 2.5 years and during that time I average 13 km/l. I had a set of 14" rim but no spoiler. Was intending to get one then sold car. I would recommend the following.

1. grounding

2. V-Kool or equivalent

3. Buddy club

Head unit or good sound system i say is a waste of money because of the crappy sound insulation in the Accent. So the engine plus all the other nioses will drown out your sweet sounds from your sound system.

Just me 2 cents [thumbsup]

Hi Desktop

I will only be getting my Accent next week.

My SE didn't give me other freebies as i had asked for the leather seats which is the most expensive of all, so she says cannot give me anymore.

But i have asked her to install the rear spoiler for me which i will be paying about $270 for it. I will be making the sports rims on my own once i get the car, i intend to get the 14' rims as people had mentioned that 13' rims looks like motorcycle wheels.

Mine is black in colour. Is there any meetups for Accent owners?

I would like to join.

well, it seems that although i paid more for my Accent but me got all the freedies...hehe [:p]

Pillow68, mine is black in color too, is yours 1.5A? i change my rims to 15", better change the 13" rims ah, it's so ugly and small, also on my first day when driving to change the rim, made a deep turn to the left, the feeling like car overturning lor. after changing to my 15", everything is so steady. but Accent too light, travel at high speed feel like flying...

tot of installing spoiler leh....but i think the original spoiler not nice leh...would prefer my friend's subaru impeza spolier...but no $$ and dunno where to fix. [blush]

i join the clubhyduai, but the moderator "fly my aeroplane", [mad] didn't meet me for the decal...then nvm lor...hehe

Same here too. I had wanted to get leather seats too but my SE cannot afford to throw that in. Had also wanted to upgrade to 14" rims but then I know FC will definitely be affected too. So it's a choice that you've to make. Actually, with hindsight I will probably substitute all the freebies with just one thing only... ie. V Kool [cool] Why? Coz' that's probably has the most significant impact to the person behind the wheel. Everything else is just pure aesthetics.

For meetups, why not try www.clubhyundai.org? It's a forum with many hyundai owners.

Btw, Pillow68, did you got yours at $57,888 too? Hee...

Enjoy yr car!

Cheers.

Hi Desktop

yes, i got the car at $57,888. How come you get your car so fast?

The COE bidding was on the 22 Oct, my SE only told me today she had registered the car and it will probably be ready next week.

So lucky of me to get the leather.

Btw, i have registered for clubhyundai, but up till now, they have not send me any email notification yet so i cannot log in at all.

The V kool is very ex, so most likely will have to wait till Dec when i get my bonus before i do anything.

Rgds

Be careful if you want to fix those V-Kool stuff in JB. Unles you know the workshop people, guranttee for LTA approval is useless unless enforceable [shakehead]

Got a friend did V-Kool cheap in JB for about S$400, LTA no approve during inspection so have to tear out.

Only Singapore workshops can promise LTA-approved else you can set the authorities on them [thumbsup]
