Neutral Newbie

hi all,

my first posting here, after reading the detailing section decided to give Autoglym a try.

So far have applied 1 layer of SRP and 3 layers of EGP. Can I apply SRP again follow by EGP or do I need to wait till the EGP layer is thin or remove the EGP layer b4 re-apply SRP??

Thanks for yr help.

cheers

everytime you put SRP, the EGP will be removed...my suggestion is claybar first and follow by 2 to 3 layer of SRP to prepare the car body and then as many EGP as you want to achieve the gloss you want...and then repeat the process every 2 to 3 mths again....in between, maintain with those quick detailers....thumbsup.gifthumbsup.gif

I aslo a AutoGlym first timer.

I went Stamford today and got myself a 1L BodyWork Shampoo and normal size bottle of Extra Gloss Protection (325ml @ 26.90). I also get a Bumper Care. (325ml @ $18.00)

The BodyWork Shampoo Conditioner (1L @ 19.90) was alot better than my old wash and wax solution.

I give BodyWork Shampoo Conditioner a [thumbsup].

After polish my car with the Super Resin Polish, I try the Extra Gloss Protection. I only apply 1 layer as tommorrow I am working and my back cannot take it anymore. But after 1 layer of Extra Gloss Protection, I can tell the different. [thumbsup]

The Bumper Care help me alot as I got problems with my car handle from the first waxing on my car. The handle got alot of white stains and the Bummper Care remove them totally. [thumbsup]

And I got a 10% discount even I am not a member. [thumbsup]

While travelling back from their Jurong branch, I went Newton and top my tank (-15%, hehe) and got a bottle of RainX. I heard people saying it's good, so grab a bottle at $9.90. [nod]

Now back aching due to my slipdisc on my lower back. But the car is showcase shine. [sunny]

AutoGlym will be my number 1 choice.

Qns: I now using my old wash and wax on my rims. Any comments ?

Thanks MCF. [inlove][inlove][inlove]

Can't say any more good things of Autoglym as you have said it all. But RainX ....... bro, tyr not to use it. It cause my windscreen wiper to jutter after using it. Now having a hard time removing it away from the windscreen. Also spend lots of $$$ changing wipers liao ... [sweatdrop]

Just like u, so far quite happy with Autoglym product. Already applied 4 layers of Extra Gloss Protection. Read from the detailing forum, some said it look even better after more than 5 coats!! Will tried to apply more, so far my 1st bottle of Extra Gloss Protection already less than half-full...hehe. Currently also using RainX, so far no complain. Next will trying to get Autoglym engine cleaner to clean the engine compartment. (cannot find this product off the shelf, still looking for it). cheers

less than half-full ? wow..

I thought apply a thin layer evenly around the surface and wait 30-60mins ? 5 coats will take 5 hrs + washing 30mins + Dry (10mins, if u wipe or 30mins if you wait)

You spend more than 6hours cleaning and waxing ? [lipsrsealed]

Just tried Autoglym Car Glass Polish. Now just waiting for another rain pour to try it out. Hopefully it works.

Honestly, I am not against RainX. Just that over time, if you decided not to use RainX cos lazy to apply ... like me [laugh] , then you will have a hard time removing it cos it silicone particles are just too stubborn to be removed. Then the juttering of the wiper will probably occur. At least that was what happened to me [furious] .

Applied 2 more layers today, total 6 layers.

Yes, spent abt an hour per layer over the past two weeks. Just wait and see how longer will it last. [sweatdrop][sweatdrop][sweatdrop][sweatdrop]

Yo bro .... The Autoglym Car Glass Polish totally eliminated the rainX problem on my windscreen liao. No more windscreen juttering. Long Live Autoglym .... [thumbsup]

Tried CIF but only half as effective as it could not totally clear the RainX.

So have fun with your RainX. If you do abandon it, there is a cure liao ..... [laugh]

Hi Fireman,

Does Autoglym Car Glass Polish have the same effect as RainX? Water just "roll" off the windscreen? cheers.... [gossip]
