Ming Neutral Newbie January 26, 2004 Author Share January 26, 2004 Thought you folks may want to get some feedback. Both Yew Lip and Bernard of Trans Eurokar advised that the damaged rim cannot be re-con. Replacement of original from Trans is $200 per piece...special offer . Left the wheel with them to check out the condition of the tyre. Hope it is not damaged in which case more $$ . Btw, I am using Yokohama Aspec db 500 @ $700 for 4 pieces of(215/55/16). Is it fair price...appears ex to me. ↡ Advertisement

Ming Neutral Newbie January 26, 2004 Author Share January 26, 2004 Rim has to be changed. Tyre is only 3 month old. Change . Hope not. What's the story on the Yoko Aspec db 500? Plse elaborate.
Jman888 Moderator January 26, 2004 Share January 26, 2004 cannot be so expensive just for the tyres. Maybe including rims
Mojoe Neutral Newbie January 26, 2004 Share January 26, 2004 yah lor... .. works out to be $175 per tires.. unless the tires is Advan Neova or something
Ming Neutral Newbie January 26, 2004 Author Share January 26, 2004 Thanks. Yup $175 per piece. The change was made 3 months ago. Looks like i had been fleeced from the responses!
Jman888 Moderator January 26, 2004 Share January 26, 2004 If it was really Aspec DB (instead of AVS DB), i think you pay way to much
Mojoe Neutral Newbie January 26, 2004 Share January 26, 2004 Aspec Db is notorious amongst many here on being bad in wet holding, although there are some who are alright with it.. I guess it depends on your driving style.. but Singapore being such a wet place, I think better play safe
Mojoe Neutral Newbie January 26, 2004 Share January 26, 2004 .. if it's Aspec DB and not AVS DB, then you might have been..
S2P2 Neutral Newbie January 26, 2004 Share January 26, 2004 its a tyre waiting to skid in the wet. be very careful after 25K usage

In that case, get the replacement rim at S$200.00... if can use back the tyre, use it... $700 for Aspec DB is expensive...
Ming Neutral Newbie January 27, 2004 Author Share January 27, 2004 Settled for the new rim, an original from the 2001 model. Tyre is okay...so no need for more $$ . Wheel alignment and under carriage has yet to be checked. Will run it for a couple of days and see how it reacts. The car's 2 year free service has ended. You Saabers do your regular maintenance and repairs with Trans Eurocar? Once, I had the older model 9000CD (purchased second hand) and had it serviced by Brian @ Ubi and later by Ang @ Pandan Loop; cheaper but too many repeat visits . Thanks for the advice.
