Zrun Neutral Newbie August 19, 2002 Share August 19, 2002 How's the experience with mitsubishi cars in general? It is because all mitsubishi cars in USA are having 0% interest and 0 payments for 1 year deal now... Looking at either Lancer or Galant. Check this site. http://www.mitsubishicars.com/MMSA/jsp/index.jsp Mitsu Lancer ES Manual Transmission Starts USD $13947 2.0 lit 120 hp@5500 130lb-ft@4250 How's the drivability/size of Lancer as compared to Civic? How about the new altis(?) corolla with 130hp? The reason I am not considering that is because of the non independant suspension on the rear. ↡ Advertisement
Seansene 1st Gear August 20, 2002 Share August 20, 2002 (edited) I wouldn't really write off a car just because it doesn't have independant suspension... anyway, anything with an anti-roll bar also cannot technically claim to be fully independant either, and that includes loads of cars with excellent handling. So my take is to try them all and then make up your mind. Having said that, I feel the current gen Civic's rear suspension is way too floaty, everytime you go over humps it's WOAH! Other than that it's pretty nice if somewhat spartan, and I really dig that flat floor (and the generous rear legroom)! My main gripe with the Lancer was the irritating CVT transmission that you have to get used to instead of vice versa. But since you're talking manual, that's no problem. The Corolla as usual is an uneventful but safe drive, but for me the B-pillar had a strange habit of getting in the way of the blind spot... I think it's just me... All in all, three very competent cars... any other choices in there perchance? Edited August 20, 2002 by Seansene
