I use a guy at Blk 253 CCK Ave 1 (opp the army camp). Not top notch, but cheap and quite good, shld have no prob installing the front components. Think his details are in the Resources folder.

$600+ budget you can look at the CDT Euros (export model - no guarantee. What car are you intending to fix the speakers ?

these are the ES not the ES (Z) or anything more expensive right?

and it comes with the interchangeable modular tweeter DRT-26sat? choice of silk aluminum and titanium tweet?

yup i went down AE to see it, about $780 for FB Pro.

anyway that's out of my league cos it requires some serious amps to power it, otherwise it's no better than entry level speakers hor?

question today is this: ok there are bright and not so bright speakers etc. and like Bosebani mentioned, a/d/s/ does a nice blend in between.

now how about the bass -

different brands publish their frequency response from like CL-62 of 60hz-20k to a/d/s/ or 70hz-20k, some daringly publish like Hertz 50hz-21k etc.

do they really give out what they promise, or in reality do crossovers just cutoff the speakers at about 80hz and forgets the rest below?

for setups with sub: sure, the sub can take over the frequencies below 80hz but you won't have a stereo 50-80hz range anymore - it becomes a mono sub 50-80hz output. so ideally 50-80hz should be retained in the front speakers for stereo output, yes?

and hence the lower fronts can go, the better? or anything below 80hz becomes some imperceptible rumble ...

Friend, If u not going to DIY then dont think so much.

Audit the speakers, determine which will u like and its within ur budget. 1 set of decent component and a sub plus amps will give almost all the range of Freq liao....

Rem HU is also impt. To me, I feel that hertz is better than MF(sound muddy). FB is too X for me, althought its good.

Generally for ur abv questions: U must look at recommended cut off freq on woofer, tweeter and sub not the specs. The rest of the freq will be cut off by crossover. Crossover are used to protect ur speakers from stretching too far from its limit.

I think what u mention abv is jus abt right.

Ah ya, throw these probs to the installer and just enjoy ur music.... [inlove][inlove][drivingcar][flowerface]

Fff0,

Agree with you bro [thumbsup]

Ultimately, we have to have the like the sound that we purchase within budget. Specs are simply only specs. Bro Hyun, best spec'ed stuff not necessarily best sounding.

ICE is simply a vehicle for us to enjoy music, a means to an end. As mentioned in my earlier post, a lot of us are just too caught up with equipment.

Guys, sit back and enjoy the music [laugh]
