Hi guys,

i m new here. any 1 installed E68?

installed 1 onto my sunny hoping 4 more cool air, but seems to generate some noise.

oso felt loss responsiveness in lower range.

Retrofitted devices like the "E68 Twin Power" or its imitation, the "Micro Compressor," do not actually offer significant benefits for motorists. Fuel-savings claims are actually misleading, since any additional air (if any) bled into your vehicle's intake manifold will be offset by the EFI system's response of compensating by injecting more fuel into the cylinders. You can verify this by testing your vehicle on a chassis dynamometer to obtain actual air-fuel ratio readings, which will definitely debunk any "mileage improvement" claims.

For any perceived negligible gains in power output, you have to weigh it against the possibility of engine damage. After all, such devices that purportedly bleed more air into the intake manifold have little or no air filtration mechanism to exclude harmful airborne pollutants. Just check on the construction/design of the E68 to know what I mean.

For carburetted engines, the possibility of engine damage is even higher, due to the absence of an EFI system to regulate the air-fuel ratio, which may ultimately result in your car running leaner than the recommended ratio of 14.7:1, which may cause excessively higher engine temperatures that damages your valves.

If you truly wish to gain additional horses, it's better to invest in a new chipset, modified extractors and a performance K&N air filter, which allows for a combination of optimum air-fuel ratios and better "breathing" especially at higher revs.

Happy motoring.

Welcome to MCF wink.gif

Your right nod.gif more air leads to better combustion of fuel and doesnt save fuel in the end tongue.gif Its more for performance than fuel savings wink.gif Your concern about the intake filtration is spot on and have seen some improvising 'nettings' to prevent the bigger particles to go in tongue.giflaugh.gif

Now some are saying Green filter is better than K&N, hope somebody can give us some feedback on this.

Anyway thanks for sharing and hope you enjoy ur stay in MCF wink.gifthumbsup.gif n do join our meetups on fridays sly.gif

Hi E36UDM and Lazy.

E36 may have a coarse wire mesh installed at the gaping mouth of the intake to prevent entry of large particles, but these things wouldn't normally make it past the narrow neck at the other end of the horn-shaped device anyway. It's the really small pollutant particles I'm worried about.

If motorists wish to improve air intake in order to gain additional power output, they can do so safely with the installation of performance air filters, which improves engine breathing but in a clean and safe manner.

Of course, there are other retrofit air-bleed devices out there with superior air filtering as compared to E68, like VenturiOne and Ecotek. But these may cost more though.

The information you provided is very timely.

Actually, I am thinking of installing E68.

My purpose of installing it is mainly for better FC.

As mentioned by you, VenturiOne & Ecotek are better

as compared to E68. What about AirMax2?

Do all of the above have same functions.

So am I right that we should just change to a better

air filter (like K&N - which I had) and stick to the

stock.

Thanks.

Hi Silverarrow,

my objective of adding E68 was actually to take in more cool

air as i experience much better ride at nite

(when air is cooler). guess it din

work cos maybe come in effect only above 3500 rpm or wat.

cool air mod may be the next option but dunno how noisy.

ADM advertised in wheels mag.

wld certainly prefer a simple add on if possible.

cheers.
