Neutral Newbie

Hi all,

Had my reverse sensor installed when i first bought the car from the agent, been using it for almost 1.5 years now, ok, not much complains but last night after having dinner, on my drive back, when i engage the reverse gear, the sensor does not sound?? [shakehead]

What could be the problem, loose wire? battery weak? [:/]

Anyone experienced this before... kindly advise

thanks for helping [nod]

Check that your reverse light comes on as well. If It does not, then chances are the reverse gear switch could be having a contact prob. Had it for a while too, kinda 'raped' the switch and now ok. Battery.......did think of that, well monitoring now, so far ok! [:)]

Then, cud be a contact prob. switch thingie. Urs Man/Auto??? It lies just below the GB. Try raping the fella - meaning engage disengage hard if manual! [;)]

Hi Nilkz

It might be a loose wire. Check the connection from the beeper to your sensors behind the rear bumper. You might find something there. Otherwise do wat 46 says, to rape the harnesses ansd contacts!

Regards

Sounds like loose connection or its totally spoil liao.... [shakehead] you know, those kind of "throw ins" accesories when you buy the new car, those must be some al-cheapo kind of product that cost BM (or the salesman) next to nothing to install.

Just my 2 Italian lira's worth... heee....

Hi E46RadX

Thanks for the tip. Tried "raping" the gearbox but still does not help, maybe din try hard enuf.. [laugh]

funny thing is that yesterday, after/during the downpour, it works!!! [shocked]

so my guess is that it could be the wiring or switch thing at the bumper like what Cool suggested..

so most prob will wait till got time to send to BM to chk it out...

thanks [cool]
