Mondeo Neutral Newbie March 3, 2002 Share March 3, 2002 How much per set? ↡ Advertisement
Turbobrick Neutral Newbie March 3, 2002 Share March 3, 2002 Depending on make and model, the cables cost from $150-$400, the less common makes and wire boots are more costly. I've a few kakis who have used Magnecors with great results, not earth shattering but can be felt (i.e. better throttle response, less misfiring with larger plug gap). Turbobrick Neutral Newbie March 3, 2002 Share March 3, 2002 If yours is distributorless ignition system then the coils are directly hooked up on the cable (2 or 4 in a 4-cyl) so nothing much U can do with the wires.
Turbobrick Neutral Newbie March 3, 2002 Share March 3, 2002 Take out resonator, put in iridium or plat plugs for light mods. The CVT is kinda lerthagic by nature (it's auto!) so mod too much the response will still be laggy.
Hotwheelers Neutral Newbie March 4, 2002 Share March 4, 2002 ok... any side effects when driving in heavy rain? (when resonator thingy removed) will replace the stock plugs to iridium/platinum plugs asap still considering K&N air filter. seems to be quite tedious - have to clean & oil regularly frankly, i do find the pickup slow after stopping at traffic lights but, when on expressways, did not realise already travelling at 180km/h - till my gf knock my head to slow down [angelic] i liked the auto tranny when going up takashimaya.... no more leg cramps when going up 6 storey of slope to find parking lot! not sure what would be the recommended/correct tire size for my car - 16" or 17" does the shocks/coil thingy need to be upgraded/changed too? overall, i find the car is suitable for easy, relaxed driving with my family
Turbobrick Neutral Newbie March 4, 2002 Share March 4, 2002 I don't think with the resonator remove you'll have problems in heavy rain unless flooding till your car's bumper level. Regular changing of the stock filter (i.e. annually) is suffice to disregard the K&N hype. Unless your stock filter is way too expensive to justify an often change then the K&N is worth the extra longevity. Advantages of the auto tranny is definitely for more relaxing city drive with plenty of start-stop traffic, else left leg become extra muscular! Hotwheelers Neutral Newbie March 4, 2002 Share March 4, 2002 haha... i presume your left leg very muscular? saw your car in earlier postings.... did you wire up the gauge yourself?
Turbobrick Neutral Newbie March 4, 2002 Share March 4, 2002 My left leg very idle! Automatic mah Yup, DIY wired the guages, pretty simple if U know your car's wiring and access points.
