BMW320i Neutral Newbie August 2, 2004 Share August 2, 2004 yup yup. Cars like that don't come without lightening the wallet But apparently the review said the interior is a bit too flimsy with plastic. RX8 is great. 1.3l only so you don't actually have to pay so much tax
Mojoe Neutral Newbie August 2, 2004 Share August 2, 2004 all i can say is good choice! but how often do you need to top up engine oil? I would imagine it's worse here in Sg because of the heat? I also heard that the wankel can take lots of beating, so don't need very good engine oil.. true?
Vamp Neutral Newbie August 2, 2004 Share August 2, 2004 Ya... did my sums.... RX-8 = value for $ for sports car....

Vamp Neutral Newbie August 2, 2004 Share August 2, 2004 (edited) U will have to check around... some companies quote high becos they dun really want to take the insurance or the driver had bad driving records. And it also depends on the type and value of cars. Edited August 2, 2004 by Vamp

Tanzy Clutched August 2, 2004 Share August 2, 2004 (edited) Many new RX8s seems to be advertised for $121k frm PI lately. If i recall correctly, it used to go for abt $135-$145k. Anyone knows what's the catch?? Mazda Singapore brings in the top end Type S with 6 speed manual gear, factory fitted leather electronic seats, 18" sports rims, sports suspensions, better brake discs etc. All these add to the OMV which adds to the car price after all the taxes. Apart from competition from Mazda SIngapore, PIs are not bring in this model and are bringing in the lower end models. On top of that, u need to check that their price includes GST, road tax and any other misc charges etc. PI car does not have a sun roof too. I was quite interested in the RX8 when I was looking for a new car and trust me the Mazda Motors deal is better than the PI. If you were to add up all the extra you get from the dealer, it will greatly exceed the savings from the PI. If you don't need all the fancy extras then get from PI. PI will also tell you that their car is JDM spec car with more BHP but that is just a paper value, dyno tests in US have shown that they are the same power as normal spec cars. Mazda has been found to be exaggerating the power of their RX8s. Check out http://www.rx8club.com/. I found it extremely useful. FC is averaged at 8km/L in US and city driving will bring it down to 5km/L. I would have bought the RX8 if it was a drop top. Vamp Neutral Newbie August 2, 2004 Share August 2, 2004 MM's price is $139,980.... final price depends on ur nego skills....
Tanzy Clutched August 2, 2004 Share August 2, 2004 I was able to bring it down to S$137,980 after the test drive. Might have been possible to get them to throw in freebies if I tried harder. ↡ Advertisement
