Esky Neutral Newbie August 17, 2004 Share August 17, 2004 Capsule is a brake booster that improves the braking and also the acceleration a bit. It's been discussed many time, just search for it. As for Monster, I'm not too sure... shd be similar.

Biccat Neutral Newbie August 18, 2004 Share August 18, 2004 If u want to DIY then I hv lobang for cheap cloned Capsule. Bro, the so-called cheap cloned Capsule appeared in the market way before the Capsule was retailed. A colleague of mine had already tested and installed in his Sunny and his Nissan kakis way before the capsule was sold. This gadget wasn't his idea either. He happened to read it in a Taiwanese auto magazine many years ago. He got it done at $50 by a local engineering workshop. Anyway, just for interest sake, the unit he did had an internal volume of 350 ml and it is stocky and shorter compare to the capsule which is slimmer and longer. How about yours? Esky Neutral Newbie August 18, 2004 Share August 18, 2004 Yeah, those brake boosters have been around for some time. Just that it's popularised by Capsule. The one I can get is the usual long one, more than 1 foot long. So did yr friend get much improvements with the self-made $50 one? Some said those with internal "Cyclone" fins are better than the empty ones...
Esky Neutral Newbie August 18, 2004 Share August 18, 2004 If it is for the brake then how come can accelerate a bit ? I'm not sure about this, but I believe it's got something to do with the extra vacuum reserve being able to pull in more air faster, when the throttle butterfly is opened. Biccat Neutral Newbie August 18, 2004 Share August 18, 2004 Yeap, better accel. Haven't seen those with fins but probably worked on the same principle as the 'Vortex effect'.
Luckcent 4th Gear August 18, 2004 Share August 18, 2004 Is your ride equipped with one and did it help ?
Esky Neutral Newbie August 18, 2004 Share August 18, 2004 Well, I tried it once, acceleration improved a bit, but forgot to test the brakes!
