Lonelyarine Neutral Newbie August 26, 2004 Share August 26, 2004 Can't say whose right or wrong. My opinion is against the road hogging issue. I also do not like it when people road hog and I have somewhere to go. Worst if they travel around 70kmh on a 90kmh road sometimes this is consider road hogging, imo ↡ Advertisement
Cool Neutral Newbie August 26, 2004 Share August 26, 2004 Chromas, When people road hog, it is no up to you or another one other then the TP to teach them a lesson. Just filter left and overtake him politely at a safe distance. Such courteous action won't shorten your life.. just signal and drive away. IF you go NS highway with me.. you will probably be labeled as Road Hogging even though you are travelling at 140km... So what you expect me to do to you? Seansene 1st Gear August 26, 2004 Share August 26, 2004 imagine tp is driving at 80km/h along lornie on the extreme right lane, would u complain he hog the road? would u expect him to give way to you? if he give way would u speed pass him? Erm... yes. Yes. And yes. Seriously

Chromas 1st Gear August 26, 2004 Author Share August 26, 2004 Doing 70 on a 90 road and riding on lane one while others need to move ahead is a real heat raiser... but just find a lane to filter and overtake

Seansene 1st Gear August 26, 2004 Share August 26, 2004 But if you look at the actions of the Vios driver (we don't know what his intentions were, right?), he didn't tailgate the Saab nor flash him not block him after overtaking. In all probability, he did precisely what you said to do: fliter left and overtake. So nothing wrong with that, right?

Dwoon 1st Gear August 26, 2004 Share August 26, 2004 well, in this situation, there were a few things the saab driver could have done.1. filter left and give way to the vios 2. maintain pace and let the vios overtake him from the left 3. accelerate when the vios is overtaking to prevent the vios from cutting him wouldn't 1 or 2 be a more sensible choice for the saab driver to take? if the saab driver had picked 1 or 2, there wouldn't be this thread at all. isn't it basic courtesy to give way when you're blocking someone? Errrr....... you missed another option leh......... 4. Speed up and tear away from the Vios such that he is no longer a road hog.
Seaweed 1st Gear August 26, 2004 Share August 26, 2004 but don't you think that we should put road hogging together with speed limit in Singapore context? Because things happen due to alot of factors and not just 1... Altough I have not been driving for very long...But it seem that people in Singapore have a better driving habit in many years back....I still remember when I first started driving...no one will honk at me for many mths.....but now almost every week got people honk me...maybe because my driving skill getting lousy or I too dangerous...I don't know?? And I see alot of youngsters driving their car like they are in a racing circuit...Altough I'm a young person also.... I still remember many mths back...Was on TPE...After jalan kayu exit...was on the most right lane....then come this mit station wagon appear behind my back and fiercely blinking his light at me!!! Well...the middle lane is clear...but I choose not to filter because I'm sure he can easily just over take me and I will be most willing to let him overtake....well...he start to push me....ha ha...maybe because of my P plate....??? then I slow down....you may say that I'm road hogging...and you are absolutely right....but I'm just following goverment regulation not to speed...the mistake I commit is that I didn't filter to middle because right is for overtaking.....anyway after a while he decided to overtake...but too bad...he never get a change anymore...because I purposely make it impossible for him to overtake....this is the 2nd mistake I committed...because it's dangerous to play on the road....in the end we all exit to puggol...and they give me the thumbs down sign ??? so whose lousy and whose good ?? ha ha ha it's obvious... Ha Ha....anyway...on in the end of the day then we know whose right and whose wrong...
