Tanlc Neutral Newbie September 14, 2004 Share September 14, 2004 Sob sob!!.. On Sunday, my 2-month old car knocked against a curb (stupidly high) when cornering. Resulted in dent and deep scratches (about 8cm long) to the bottom right side of my car, below the car door (dunno how to name that part). Any recommendation how to amend my car to original new state? Guess it will not be the same as before ↡ Advertisement

Silver_blade Turbocharged September 14, 2004 Share September 14, 2004 Try a good spray painting shop. That should do the job.

Tanlc Neutral Newbie September 14, 2004 Author Share September 14, 2004 Should I go to the Kah Motor since it is still under warranty? I'm afraid if you go to other car workshop, it might void the warranty...
Remygenn Neutral Newbie September 14, 2004 Share September 14, 2004 It's normal to feel the pain .. juz gotta be extra careful next time hor. MY PRECIOUS
Silver_blade Turbocharged September 14, 2004 Share September 14, 2004 Sending it back to Kah Motor would be ideal, but it would probably cost you a bomb. Re: warranty, as long as the spray-paint job (assuming that all your car need) is well done, Kah motor would be able to tell.
Tanlc Neutral Newbie September 14, 2004 Author Share September 14, 2004 It's like having a deep cut on the face and no matter how many 'cosmetics' or surgery works can't restore to original state. No face to see people!!..
Dcool Neutral Newbie September 14, 2004 Share September 14, 2004 I think that part is call the side skirt... Hmm.. one suggestion.. not sure wat car you driving but not a bad idea to get a complete bodykit with front, side and rear for your new car, new look and it will also make it look better and less hard ache. If it makes you feel any better, my car is currently one mth old and some stupid idiot open his door and left a dent below my fuel cap cover.. worst of all i doubt the PDR can repair that be its not a flat surface bc its near the rear wheel arches. Damn...
Remygenn Neutral Newbie September 14, 2004 Share September 14, 2004 Same lousy feeling when had my first dent . Try browsing around at the resource folder to rectify ur damages as it will definitely cost cheaper than your dealer.
Tanlc Neutral Newbie September 14, 2004 Author Share September 14, 2004 Hmm.. how much will the complete bodykit costs?
Tanlc Neutral Newbie September 14, 2004 Author Share September 14, 2004 I know it will be cheaper than my car dealer. I scare it might void the 3 yrs warranty with the car dealer.
Remygenn Neutral Newbie September 14, 2004 Share September 14, 2004 U r merely fixing the dent and not doing any moddings - will not void the warranty clause.
Silver_blade Turbocharged September 14, 2004 Share September 14, 2004 Body work will be alright. If it is done well, your car will not rust and you will not need to claim warrenty for the bodywork. Most ppl are concern of engine and geabox, therefore it is good to do the less visble mod (if you want to) and let Kah Motor service your car during the warrenty period. You should still fix the dent, even if you are getting the body-kit. Cos you wouldn't want that part to rust.
Tanlc Neutral Newbie September 14, 2004 Author Share September 14, 2004 Just wondering how does car workshop mend the deep cut? (like a piece of metal is gone) Will they do welding?
Tanlc Neutral Newbie September 14, 2004 Author Share September 14, 2004 Any good car workship to recommend?
Silver_blade Turbocharged September 14, 2004 Share September 14, 2004 (edited) Depend if the damage is structure or superficial. I guess it is the latter. Workshop will just treat the surface, patch it and spray-paint it. Lye Design (@AMK Autopoint) is good, but rather ex and there are a few in Sin Ming and Paya Lebar (near the POst Office HQ). Maybe, someone else can suggest. Edited September 14, 2004 by Silver_blade ↡ Advertisement
