B+G springs

Hi:

I am using B+G lowering springs for my ride E39 520i with my stock suspension. Ride is comfortable despite the lowered height of the car. B+G springs are manufactuered in Sweden and are all TUV certified. At first I was a bit hesitant in using them when Ricky of Fong Kim recommended them to me. However, the moment I had them on I realised that not only handling has improved, but the comfort level of my ride has not been comprised that much. Go for it if they are suitable models for your car.

Actually Fong Kim gave a special price for my springs as the earlier set he recommended (i.e. Merwede)did not have the lowering height that I wanted - the rear seems a bit too low. The B+G springs lowering height seem to be ideal for my car. I paid $400/- for the springs (front and back) which is a special price.

Hi Seal,

I read from other threads that it is better to change the shocks and springs, rather than just change to lowering springs as this will cause the shocks to go kaput in like 2 yrs time. whats your take in this?

By the way, the comfort that B+G gives you, is it as good as your stock suspension? Or is it stiffer & bumpier? I too wanna lower my ride, so doing abit of research now. Thanks!

Boy and Girl springs work fine with stock shocks which will wear out faster than with stock springs. instead of changing straight to aftermarket shocks, u can wait till they wear out in 2 to 3 yrs time and then change to aftermarket ones. better than changing straight to aftermarket and leaving your stock shocks to collect dust at home [sly]

ooh..ok ok thanks alot! But is it a bad idea to jus change (lower) the front springs? cos i jus want the front to dip abit, make it look sleeker.

i'm not sure if its a good idea to have different spring rates for the front and rear [sweatdrop] may affect the driving dynamics and stability when u cornering fast
