Need advise on which amp and sub to get

yo guys,

 

i just got a 12" JBL GTO1200B sub with a JBL power series 4ch 300.4 Amp, total paid $1000 including labour and everything...

 

haven't really blasted it yet, but sounds pretty cool

FYI, the whole setup of my car costs less than 1000, including installation. purchases include 6.5in front component, rear 6x9, 12in sub and 2ch amp. 4ch is my own.

bro,rockford P1 is their lower end sub,P4004 4ch amp is a good amp,but was too expersive,don't get fool by the installer,u can get cheaper outside ,when u want to install a system .actually all depend what u looking for .whether u want sound quality or sound pressure.maybe i can give u some advice .u must asked yrself how much u want to pay.

what type of music u listen to . rockford sub is good for rap,trance,hip hop,

not for slow music .can get very loud if u get 2x12" sub.

Why buy your ICE from JB when many people from MY come here to get their stuffs.

Unless you buy MY brand, I think S'pore is cheaper.

JB they got many amp & sub,speaker,component made by is all lousy,if u buy import set ,made in usa,japan.germany,even others.........etc. very expensive.double the price .

all car sound system u have to get here (singapore) cheaper & good quality .forget about going jb to buy yr system

if u just look for component speaker. try look for infinity,jbl,alpine,$400 u can got a good set already.if u don't go for high end.then u have to spend more.

I went to Sim Lim Sq 2 days ago and asked for an affordable 4ch amp and 1 guy suggested a Sony 4Ch amp which cost only $160. I don't know it's model number....but does anyone here know if Sony Amps are ok to buy?

Alpine got amps also? I think speakers I have seen before....but amps...not sure. Anyway, I was thinking....Amps not really important right? As long as they are functional ie 2ch or 4ch, got elec crossover or not....(I might be wrong)

 

Hmm....actually if there's a audio bible that we can read up on, then it'll be good. ie, how to calculate if your amp's sufficient to power your ??Watt speaker/woofer....

I've seen before some cheap amps in JB. Probably from China or Taiwan...but can we (layperson) tell the difference between expensive or cheap amps?

 

I thought if a expensive or cheap speaker, we might be able to differentiate easier.??
