Xavier Neutral Newbie April 6, 2005 Share April 6, 2005 does new car need mineral oil The reason for using mineral oil for the first 10km is because it is cheap and gives you enough protection. You will use it for 5k only then got to drain out. If you use the more exp synthetic oil and drain it out at 5k is a waste. Unless you can find synthetic oil cheaper than mineral oil then it is worth to use it. Carrefour used to have this cxxxxxe Triple R synthetic oil selling at $29.90 but now no more. This is one of the synthetic oil selling cheaper than what SA's mineral oil is selling.
Aegis Neutral Newbie April 7, 2005 Share April 7, 2005 Just come from from plaza sing. The cxxxxxe Triple R is on offer again, now selling @ $29.90 and there is alot of it.

Xavier Neutral Newbie April 7, 2005 Share April 7, 2005 Don't wait already! I will get it tml for my 5k km servicing. The oil is ..giving me better FC than the factory filled oil. The Mobil XHP mineral oil that SA is using is a bit thick at 20W50..
Weezersg 3rd Gear April 9, 2005 Share April 9, 2005 If never bring own oil can request SA to use not to use 20W50 maybe like 10W40? Or we got to buy and bring our own?
Xavier Neutral Newbie April 9, 2005 Share April 9, 2005 Can. But the 10w40 they are having is more expensive than the mineral 20w50. Anyway u are paying for the mineral oil at $32. why not get the cxxxxxe 5w40 at $29.90 during this promo.. U do the maths.. ↡ Advertisement
