Lightspeed Clutched December 11, 2002 Share December 11, 2002 Ok...I know this is not a question... But I think each car needs more pics (interior as well) even though its gonna take up more bandwidth and here's another MAJOR issue (to me...its major enuff for me anyway ) some cars on sale have PRICES on them... some dont. I suppose the purpose of not stating price is to get genuine buyers to call the seller up. But for me... I really hate shopping at places with items without price tags here's the question: MCF has disabled the classifieds section and thus as MCFTeam has stated, any classifieds are now being directed to CarXchange. But CarXchange is a car sale website ...erm...so where's the redirection? Just wondering Correct me if I'm wrong anywhere overall.... the site does look promising Just needs a tad more pics of each car eg: (www.cartimes.net)
Chris_ck Neutral Newbie December 12, 2002 Share December 12, 2002 I just browsed the car xchange website and i realised that the site only allows you to sell/buy cars. How about accessories? I did not find any anything about that? Will a section on Car accessories be set up too?
Tantt70 Neutral Newbie December 16, 2002 Share December 16, 2002 Dear Alex, I note the advantages that an online classified like yours have over the simple and yet effective Classifieds on the newspapers. Can you elaborate more on how you can beat ST Classifieds. At the same time, we see quite a few online car classifieds like juzclickcar or carfellas which i believe are backed by BIG BIG boys... so what is your competitive edge? Assassin Clutched December 21, 2002 Share December 21, 2002 Hi Alex, Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions. I hope you will bear with us as our questions can come from both a general as well as a personal perspective. I have a few general questions myself which I would like to put forward: - Does Car Exchange Network [CEN] impose any requirements/clauses on car sellers to ensure that the vehicles that they sell are of a certain standard ? eg. cars must have vehicle log book, full service and accident history etc. - Are the cars for sale held at a CEN location for viewing or do the buyers have to arrange with the sellers individually for viewing ? At the same time, we see quite a few online car classifieds like juzclickcar or carfellas which i believe are backed by BIG BIG boys... so what is your competitive edge? Hi Tantt70, Thank you for your questions. As you mentioned, most people already see the advantages of online classifieds over traditional media. In the long run, no question, online classifieds will become the main stream classifieds provider. But this will not happen overnight. At the moment, the population is divided. 1. There is an older generation who will stick to newspapers. 2. There is a big group of office workers who will use both. Maybe finding a car online in the office, reading newspapers after work. 3. There is a less educated group who will not use online classifieds yet. 4. There is a young generation who use online media heavily. Currently, it is group 2 & 4 which is driving the change. It is enough mass to keep the momentum going and create a balance between traditional media and online media for a while. Over time, group 1 & 3 will diminish and 2 & 4 will dominate. That will be the time online classifieds really overtake traditional media. We know there are a few classifieds sites around. Some of the sites out there try to sell everything. They end up providing a very general service. We are focus on car classifieds. You can see our site is tailored to sell cars from day one. So it does a much more effective job in selling and finding cars. We have the expertise and created a unique photo listing. It is attractive to buyers and helps to locate what you need effectively. Yet, our pages load fast! Some of the sites out there provide free classifieds. So they just put the sites up and leave it. Classifieds is just the side business, they don

Carxchange Neutral Newbie December 21, 2002 Share December 21, 2002 Hi Assasin, Thanks for your questions. - Car Exchange Network is a pure classified provider. Sellers are free to post any car advertisements. Though we hope that all who come to Car Exchange Network will act honorably and treat each other fairly, we can't verify the information they supply or guarantee the vehicles they offer. Buyers must practice same caution and good judgement as you would in responding to a classified ad in the newspaper. - Sellers just advertise with Car Exchange Network. Buyers will contact sellers directly. Best Regards, Alex Car Exchange Network
Guest Triggerhappy Neutral Newbie December 21, 2002 Share December 21, 2002 Hallo Alex, nice to have you here. A small question from me. Visited your website a few times as my cousin is considering using his yr end bonus to buy a car. My question is: Would it make sense for you to list if the seller is a dealer or pte seller. Reason why I asked is that I for one do not want to deal with dealers. Had some bad experience with them so rather buy direct from sellers. Many benefits to buy direct (via classifieds) but shan't drag the topic here. Appreciate your comments. Thanks!
Carxchange Neutral Newbie December 21, 2002 Share December 21, 2002 Hi Triggerhappy, We have both dealers and direct sellers listing in our sites. We know some buyers like to buy from sellers hoping to save on commission. But there are also buyers don't mind buying from dealers, as dealers will do most of the administrative works for them. In our website, it is a free market, choices belong to the buyers. Best Regards, Alex Car Exchange Network
