Mewmew 1st Gear October 12, 2005 Share October 12, 2005 i can t give you the name of the PI here, drop me a pesonal mail. Did test drive both Sirion1.3l and Passo 1.l, Both to me performed well, but it depend on individual, for eg. on the pro: i like light steering, small turning axis, the gear shift is bearly noticible, spacious, japanese design interior-simple, EDB-electronic brake force distribution, overdrive button for Passo, and the cons: bodyroll, column gear, Foot brake for Passo (but it means you have more space in between the two seat.) noisy engine. extra safety belt hanging at the back of Sirion, distracting. lack of bodykit in the maket. but as i said it all depend on driver. ↡ Advertisement

Mewmew 1st Gear October 12, 2005 Share October 12, 2005 (edited) by the way, had sponken to two SE at STS, both seems not so sure about the car, even when i ask about the OMV of the sirion. There are only 3 type vehicle in the showroom, the YRV, Sirion and a SUV. Don t understand why they don t know the exact OMV of the car, what they want to know is how long you are taking the loan. - talk about good sale service well, i wont want to see whats their after-sale service will be like, I guess some of our bro and sis here have the same expereince with other SE in other showroom too. Vroomvroom 2nd Gear October 13, 2005 Share October 13, 2005 Hi Sirion owners, Can I checked with you guys, for the euro sport version, apart from the spoiler, side skirt, foglight, what else does it comes with? does it comes with leather seats?
Flick77 Neutral Newbie October 13, 2005 Share October 13, 2005 hi on their price list, euro sports version also include black housing for headlamps and tail-lamps, in addition to what you have mentioned. but i don't think they include leather seats. =)
Vroomvroom 2nd Gear October 13, 2005 Share October 13, 2005 arrgghh.... Leather seats is something which I deem very important for the comfort of the passengers. Heard tt the leather seats which STS carries cost 800 bucks .. and STS SE are very hard to squeeze for freebies.....hiaz.. thanks anyway bro.
Crazy_turtle 1st Gear October 13, 2005 Share October 13, 2005 I believe comes w leather seats but sure got no sport rims. Strange but euro sport model comes with 14" tyres and cap. Change to alloy rims add $400 or $1600 for the 16 alloys with suspension lowering lit
Vroomvroom 2nd Gear October 13, 2005 Share October 13, 2005 wah lao....$1600 for 16inch and lower suspension?!?! is it abit too ex?
Crazy_turtle 1st Gear October 13, 2005 Share October 13, 2005 that i'm ok but i find the sports model package without alloys very
Vroomvroom 2nd Gear October 13, 2005 Share October 13, 2005 indeed.....wah lao eh..wonder if one can just opt for lowering of suspension without upgrading to 16inch alloy rim? lowering of suspension =perhaps less body roll? (correct me if im wrong) 16inch alloy rim = worsen FC.
Ckteddy Neutral Newbie October 13, 2005 Share October 13, 2005 Replying to : Flick77 Post: guaranteed COE, oh.. you're right. that was on their latest price list, but i didn't notice that. $50K sounds like a fair deal too. but i think wait a while more after the spike in oct's 2nd bidding, COE would probably drop further after this batch of current buyers rush in, as mentioned by others on another post somewhere in mcf. by then, i think sirion at $45K will be a very strong possibility, don't you think? ;P STS quoted an additional insurance premium of $150 for euro sports. maybe it's better if you just get the normal euro version, then fit the sports kit with STS (or elsewhere) on a separate occasion? $2K for sports kit sounds expensive to me anyway, although sirion looks much better with it. =D r u considering other cars as well? or r u strictly on a below $50K budget? ================================================================================ ========= Actually, when I have another look at it. STS actually raised the price. Before Sept 2nd bidding, price $52,788 with $15,300 COE rebate level. Now 38k without COE, if you do the calculations, u will see what I meant. Agree that the COE probably fall after the spike in Oct 2nd bidding. But 45k.... means $7k COE. seems a bit too low. But who knows.... anything can happen in these days. You are right. Should get the standard sirion, save the $ and do the body kit elsewhere. Maybe can throw in the leather seat + sports rims by adding a bit more. With MyVis across the causeway, there might be more options available. Not strictly below 50k but in the 50k++ region. I test drove Jazz, Swift, Picanto, Aveo5, Lancer and Impreza . So far Sirion ranked highest on my list in terms of FC, the drive feel, price $$, interior space, exterior look etc.... You planning to get the Sirion too? Want to group buy? Bhjazz Neutral Newbie October 13, 2005 Share October 13, 2005 Go to the Teban Crescent showroom (Jurong area beside AYE) and look for SE Adrian Tong. Spoken to him on two separate occasions and found him to be very friendly and helpful. He is sincere in his comments when I ask him to compare Sirion with the YRV and Extol range. In end didn't buy Sirion cause boot only big enough for the pram and not much else though I really like it. Oh it has 4 airbags, 2 front and 2 side (small one)for a 1.3L car if case those interested do not know.
Mewmew 1st Gear October 13, 2005 Share October 13, 2005 (edited) Wonder how many Sirion/Passo owner out there? can we start counting... Edited October 13, 2005 by Mewmew
Vroomvroom 2nd Gear October 13, 2005 Share October 13, 2005 Is there any official Sirion/Passo Forum out there? Just like the Jazz-Fit forum. That would be great for sharing information
Flick77 Neutral Newbie October 14, 2005 Share October 14, 2005 oh i see... you mean $52788 - $15300 = $37488? you're right! so technically... that means it's possible to squeeze a bit more from STS, since they increased their profit margin. gnahahah. or maybe not. yep.. i've tabulated a comparison chart for myself... hur hur. on my list are honda city f/l, sirion, panda, punto, kia rio and picanto. heee.. city ranked first actually. =P i think the new f/l looks good, but insurance and monthly instalment too high for me, so cannot make it lah. sirion was a very close second. =) i test drove swift and mazda2 SP as well too! both are very nice to drive... nicer than sirion IMO, actually. but interior too small lah. and SP too ex, although i really love its looks among all the hatches. so, it's pretty much just sirion left. heee.. actually, i don't really need a car. just a want. wat about you? when do you plan to make a purchase? for me... i'm just to going to sit and wait until i'm comfortable with its price. LOL i think i might end up waiting until next october! so. actually, i kinda prefer taking public transport. can hold and hug my gf without worrying about traffic. heeeh. was wondering how Open Cat COE works. say if we get sirion at $50K (immediate delivery) with open cat COE, which is $12K now. if the COE at next round is $13K, does that mean the open cat COE is worth $13K? or $12K? it's interesting, cuz this time COE sure go up, right? if i get Open Cat COE, that means i can get my car ASAP and also get higher COE rebate! wow. am i dreaming? Flick77 Neutral Newbie October 14, 2005 Share October 14, 2005 arrgghh.... Leather seats is something which I deem very important for the comfort of the passengers. Heard tt the leather seats which STS carries cost 800 bucks .. and STS SE are very hard to squeeze for freebies.....hiaz.. thanks anyway bro. no problem. probably the best is you go down STS and ask them if sports kit include leather seats or not. ;P and maybe you can tell them since their profit margin now higher (refer to my reply to ckteddy above), they should be able to play around more and throw in leather seats for you at say... $200! and see their face turn black before you. =P those cats. when do you plan to make your purchase...? =)
Flick77 Neutral Newbie October 14, 2005 Share October 14, 2005 ya... that would be sweet! but i think very few sirions on the roads. i looked at mta statistics for no. of vehicles on the roads by brands for this year. so far, very few daihatsus on the road, 142 put on the roads up til sept 2005. http://www.lta.gov.sg/corp_info/doc/M03-Ca...20by%20make.pdf let's say 50% of that number are sirions. that's only 71 of them running about on our island. let's say 20% are interested to form a forum. that's.... 14 whooping members chatting amongst themselves. LOL heeh.. maybe there's a forum for myvi owners up north. =)
