Maybe a lao jiao like you can answer this question. Look at the specs on the brochure for Focus.

0-100 is 11.9s

50-100 is 13+s

Any idea why?

The things to understand about acceleration figures is the purpose: 0-100 timings measurestarting acceleration, it works through the gears: 1-2-3... while 50-100, or more commonly, 50-70mph timings measure expressway acceleration, and are taken in only one gear, in this case 4th gear. That is why the timing seems unacceptably high. This gives a good indication of mid-range torque, and why you will find TC cars performing extremely well here.

i see......so its readings taken only at the fourth gear.

so is there any other comparison for other cars for the 50-100kph?

i just taken a look and confirm my suspicion. the mkII is more sluggish compared to the mk1

Hi guys, the new 1.6 Duratec Ti-VCT (115PS) engine is only available in manual transmission. Maybe that's why RM brought in the 100PS engine, seeing as most drivers go for auto trans nowadays. [:)]

Thank you for the clarification! In fact, I also found the same answer from another source at the same time. I think RM needs to tell this to their SEs. laugh.gif

RM needs to tell their SEs lots of things, least of all the boot size of the new Focus sedan. The brochure says 385 litres, which is the same as the hatch...
