Richieleo Neutral Newbie January 6, 2003 Share January 6, 2003 In most cases, the pre amp includes and equalizer to allow you to vary and balance the tonality of the music. It also allows you to connect a sub to your system although the more ex head unit can also do this. Some head units have an eq built in (eg Alpine 7998) but they will cost more. Size of subs vary from 8inches up to 15 inches (8, 10, 12 and 15). If you are new, I would suggest you state your budget and what you want (eg. whether you want to play MP3, more bass etc) so that you get some advice.
