By the time the OctyII arrives (if it ever makes it here anyway), most people would have bought their Alfas, Meganes, C4s, Focus, Astras, etc.

 

They can really forget about any sales if they still drag on....

 

 

CA's sales efforts lack focus. Just look at their ads: a brief mention about the car's model name, price, and free gift for every test drive. They can keep giving away free gifts for nothing, since it take more for potential buyers to accept the financial commitments of a purchase.

 

So, what can CA do?

 

The ad needs pictures. Amazingly, some people actually associate Skoda with Lada (WTF???), and pictures of the Octy will dispel that silly notion.

 

Remind readers that the Octy Tour shares VW underpinnings and technologies. Let people know that the car comes with ABS, EBD, trip computer, etc, etc, etc.

 

And the deal needs sweeteners, like improving on the warranty terms. After all, Skoda isn't among the Top 3 in JD Powers ranking in UK for nothing. Better warranty will reinforce that claim in SG.

 

Oh... and drop the price a tad too. It's an old model, for goodness sakes.

A group of us spoke to the staff at CA ... it was a gathering between owners from SkodaSG and few of them from CA...

 

Ad campaigns and such were brought forward too, details like what you mentioned, to let the public know that Skoda is not what it used to be before VW came in, to let the public know what platforms Skoda cars are now built upon and the good features of the car.

 

Up till now, all we see are the ads you mentioned in the papers that don't say much... sheesh

 

It's no wonder the public still associate Skodas with Ladas and the old Favorits come to mind
