Found that some of the HU and speakers at Mustafa Centre is selling at damn cheap prices....... wonder if there is a catch?

are these export sets... meaning no local warranty?

IS it advisable to get these..... what are the chances of a HU breaking down... looking at getting the 9000 series pioneer HU.

 

Anywhere else to get cheap but good HU?

Mustafa electronic are mostly export sets but not all.

Export sets dont come with any local wty and buy it with your luck.

Some of my items at home also export set and using it without any problem,

like what i said is base on luck.

u can try Sim Lim Tower level 2 to check it out.

They selling cheap HU at very cheap price too.

you all referring to hu only right? for export set, not only in mustafa la, sim lim twr also no warranty. warranty at most given by the shop u buy it from. u want proper warranty, add another $100 or so..

 

for other electronic goods at mustafa, they are cheaper n come with local warranties... so for electrical items i normally check out mustafa

last week while waitg for staff to test my dvd player, i happen to see the sony dvd HU selling for 650 i think. big shops like autobacs selling for 800++

yup. i was refering to HU and mainly ICE only.

 

For the rest of the electronic products, i partially agree with you. But not all are cheaper than elsewhere. for batteries, i think they are the cheapest in SG.

 

anyway, mustafa beats most shops for convenience since it is open 24 hours. for service, it sucks

bro, this is my opinon.

 

If i want to upgrade my ICE and want good sound for my car, i would not want something cheap. I think we pay for what we get. This includes installation, cables etc.

cheap dun mean not good ma... it just that that set is export set, no local warranty type, meaning u pay 100 - 200 less and forgo the 1 yr warranty. the set u buy from them or buy from reputable audio shop is still the same brand/model...

 

cables/instlalation, etc, mustafa dun do anyway...

ya, not everything is cheaper, but so far, whatever i want to buy, all are cheaper than elsewhere.. as for batts, never noticed though cos i cant be bothered to go thru the hassle of going there (lookg for parkg,going thru the crowd, etc) just to buy batt.. i only go there to buy bigger items, like last time i bought a HTIB set, bought there at abt $100 cheaper..

 

service depends u get who. last week i got a non smiling staff, dun talk, dun smile one.. very mechanical type.. haha.

that's the question that I was asking myself. most of the time,the counter staff too busy and did not entertain me.
