You want SG or MY? I know of one in both places.

2) Any deals for solar film?

MY cheaper. RM200~380 should be sufficient.

3) Our car is running in now, fuel comsumption is sort of high. Why ah?

Once you have run-in, your FC should improve.

B4 the first 1k, FC was high!!

abt 320-350 per full tank.

after first servicing, stretched the engine alittle and FC keeps improving. after the 1st servicing, getting arnd 11km/l at least. d: >

getting 250km to 300km for the 1st quarter.

Hi

my Gen2 (just collected a few days ago) got a problem. When im driving on a road which is slightly downslope (eg. along PIE near Stevens Rd exit), my car will automatically shift to a lower gear which caused the car to jerk back causing engine brake. Im not driving very fast but only around 70km/h.

only when i tap on the accelerator/brake throughout the downslope stretch, the jerk will not happen. After which i had to step on the accelerator for about 3secs in order to shift up to a higher gear.

Anyone knows is the car is not tuned properly or is it standard for Gen2?

i find this shifting down of the gear quite dangerous as other cars will be moving faster along the downslope but mine is slowing down.

Hello AKAI80, the senario that you're encountering in your Gen-2 is a standard feature in all Gen-2. (Auto only)

This feature is pre-programmed into the auto-trans computer to assist in engine braking during a downslope drive or after a sudden brake. It allows the auto-trans to shift to a higher gear faster. It's exactly like when you're driving a manual trans. car, you'll drop a gear before your nagotiate a corner or when you need to perform an engine brake right? This is to make sure that you'll have power to your driving wheels to assist better road holding too.

But because the Gen-2 auto has an auto-trans in it, the only way to have this feature is to pre-programme this feature into the auto-trans. thus you'll feel the sudden draw back from the car. Just keep your foot on the accelerator pedal when you need more speed, the auto-trans. will upshift automatically when you gain more speed. Mind you, this was design specially for Gen-2 from the Lotus design team for a more sportier drive. And that's why this auto-trans. is so different from any other auto-trans.

Enjoy driving! [;)]

Hi thxs for the info. But in singapore, downslope is not that steep so drivers would not need to apply any engine brakes or even the foot brake. I'm currently experiencing the engine braking even for very gentle slopes.

I understand that engine braking is good for the car but by using engine braking, the brakes lights wouldn't be lit and the driver behind wont notice that my car in front is slowing down.

And in order to shift the gear up, i got to step on the accelerator relatively hard for about 3 secs and the rev will go up to 3500. I dont really like the sound of the dragging of the gears.

Am i the only one who is experiencing this engine braking features in an auto car? Am i able to disable or tone down this 'special' feature? Pls advice.

Hi akai80, I'm sorry but there's really nothing you can do about it cause it's pre-programmed into the ECU.

I know it's not really nice of me to say this but you'll have to get used to it cause it's a feature that comes with the car.

Regards,
