  1. Hi Folks, On Sunday, for the first time, while driving out from Turf City back home, at normal listening level of 20, I heard a 'pomp' from the SW and then no sound from the rear SW. That was after starting engine for about 5 mins. I switched the setup off. This morning, I drove to my installer without turning on the setup. Upon arrival, I switched it on and right in front of the installer, he heard the 'pomp' sound from the SW and then no sound. I then switched it off. Next, he connected another new SW directly to my Amp and switched on again. Again, same thing. 'pomp' sound came up and the silence. After that, switched on again and immediately, we played some CDs with heavy bass and loud for about 15 mins or so... no problem at all.. no 'pomp' sound. Funny!!.. at high volume of 30+ with heavy bass, no problem.. There is nothing wrong with the SW sound when there is no 'pomp' Trial Solution: To confirm which amp is the problem, he switched my rear RCA cable to the front components, and the front to the rear SW to try out if it is my Pre-Amp problem or my Steg Amp problem. If my rear SW still 'pomp', then it's my Steg Amp.. but if this time my front goes 'pomp', then it's my Pre-Amp problem. So far so good since this afternoon.. no 'pomp' sound yet.. So what does that mean? Now keeping my fingers crossed. Any comments from the gurus here..???
