  1. any1 figured out the meanings of the different offsets? e.g. i found an offset for my model of CDR drive on the web pages. it's +667. however, i'm wondering if that's the read offset, or the write offset, or the "combined". and if i use it as "combined", that means i don't have to set read & write offsets at all? actually this whole idea of offset is to prevent loss of a few frames at the start / end of the entire disc, but it does not affect the content in the middle hor.
  2. Need some advise here. I intend to proceed with the following setup: Headunit has 1 x RCA left/right preout and 1 x Subwoofer preout Option 1: Front: Component speakers powered by a 2 channel amp (RCA) Rear: Coaxial speakers powered by a 2 channel amp (RCA via splitter). Subwoofer powered by tri-mode config off the same amp Question: Will the tri-mode only output low freq to the subwoofer or the entire freq spectrum ? If full freq is transmitted, I will need to look for a crossover ? Option 2: Front: Compoenent speakers powered by a 2 channel amp (RCA) Rear: Coaxial speakers connect to HU. 2 channel amp bridged for the subwoofer and using the subwoofer preout. Which of the above config is preferred ? (Note: As I drive a MPV, I want to have the flexibilty of removing the subwoofer. And if I remove it, in Option 2, the amp will be wasted right ?)

  4. Hi Guys, Need some advise on the following. Recently got some ICE Fever .I have bought these yesterday and would like to solicit some advise/suggestions on the best way forward to integrate into my car 1) 2 Channel Mosfet Power Amp 300w RMS 2) 2 x 8" subwoofers 3) 2 x 1" tweeters 4) 2 x 3 way crossovers 5) Misc cables to connect the above Current setup in car 1) Kenwood KRC 489 2) Front 6.5" 3 way coaxial speakers 3) Rear 6"x9" 3 way coaxial speakers Current plan (A) 1) Install my spare (old) 6.5" 2 way coaxial into rear door (curently empty) 2) Install tweeters on front dashboard facing ceiling upwards 3) Remove 6x9 from rear panel and cut hole bigger to fit the 8" subwoofers. 4) Install 2 Channel Amp under driver seat and connect Amp output to the 2 units of 3way crossovers. 5) Connect the tweeters, front speakers, woofers into the crossovers. 5) Connect the Rear door speakes directly to HU Plan (B) Follow plan (A) except the following 1) Use 2 Channel Amp to ONLY power the 2 8" subwoofers in parallel. 2) The rest of speakers connect to HU directly 3) Continue dreaming of more budget to buy 4 ch amp to power front/rear. (may dream forever) Appreciate any suggestions/advise or comments. Thanks
  5. Care to share what you have in your AVEO? Mine is original configuration. Blaunpunkt CD34 Atlanta CD player. 4 inch component speaker in front with A pillar mounted tweeter (duno what brand or wat wattage rms?) 6X9 inch boot mounted speaker (duno what brand and wattage rms?) Anyone know the stock speaker brand and power rms wattage? Can tell me? Is the DAC-09 Blaunpunkt good? I thinking of buying that and then add a 300-500w amplifier and 12 inch woofer. If that is not good, I will change to Pioneer CD chnager and 9-series CD receiver. The original front component speaker also not good right? I planning to change also to better component speaker, most slightly 6 inch in front and the behind either leave it unconnected or just connect it but tune down the volume behind. Find that current configuration no bass, very boring.
