GAC's sub-brand Aion has just released their electric SUV into the Singapore market called the Aion V. It's a Cat A vehicle (save some $$)! The Aion V comes with a panoramic sunroof and retractable sunshade. Great for sunny places like Singapore and much better than those that do no have an electric shade. The electric driver and front passenger seats come with three memory settings. The front seats have heating as well as ventilation and comes with massage function! Gear shift is located at the column steering wheel to free up space at the center console. Driver's side display is 8.8" (looks a bit cramped and busy with all the information). Wish there was a Heads Up Display (HUD) to make it a bit more premium feel. The infotainment unit is sized at 14.6". Standard 360 deg camera with Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) up to Level 2 is there. At the back there's a fridge! The fridge volume is around 6.6L and can warm up (+50 deg) as well as cool down (-15 deg). There's also fold down table tray with air vents at the B-pillars! How cool are these features? Rear boot space is a little over 400L and with the rear seats up and the volume grows to about 1,000L when the rear seats are folded down. Rear seats can recline down to 137 degree. Front seats can also fold down flat and with the right air mattress - one can go glamping in the Aion V. Aion V vehicle dimensions are: 4,605 mm long x 1,876 mm wide x 1,686 mm tall. Wheel base is 2,775 mm. Electric motor power output is 100kW - to comply with Cat A requirements, with a max torque output is 240Nm. Will do the century sprint in under 10 seconds. Claimed energy consumption is 14.1 kWh/100 km and with the 75.3kWhr of useable capacity LFP battery can do around 480km WLTP range in a single charge. Assuming 70% Sate of Health (SoH) after 3,000 cycles, that 75.3kWhr battery is good for 1 million kms! One will have to drive 50,400km/year for the next 20 years to exhaust the LFP battery. The Aion V has Vehicle to Load (V2L) capacity of 3.3kW. Can do DC fast charging of 150kW and add 300km of driving range in 15 minutes. Standard manufacturer's warranty is 8 years or 160,000km for the vehicle. The battery is 8 years or 200,000kms. The Authorized Dealer is Vincar EV. Retail price is $175k.
