After close to 60 years in operations, started off as a Corporal mess in 1968, this old school canteen is going into history from 19 September 2026. From the road side, it look like some abandoned zinc roof houses from the 50s, 60s, or something you can only find across the causeway. But move closer in and you will see tables and chairs filled with people having their breakfast / lunch. No photos of the canteen interior, out of respect for the owner, let call him Uncle Boh Geh. There's currently only 3 stalls in operations, drink stall (by the owner), Chinese cai png and a Malay food stall. If you are nearby, do pop in to take a look for yourself how old school is this canteen. You only have another 4 weeks to visit this live "museum" before it shuts forever.
