As you know, in Singapore, us automotive journalists are expected to know more or less everything. Or in Hokkien, "bao ka liao". Aside from driving the test cars around our little island to get the best feel of each car's characteristics, we also have to source for nice places to take photos, all for the reader's viewing pleasure.

However, being the small tiny island that we are, it's really not that easy to keep finding places that we, or even others, have not been to. After all, we don't want to end up having our works looking like it has been done before.

Now, I live in the North of Singapore, and being in such an 'ulu' place (believe me, if I get a dollar for every time someone complains to me how 'far' Woodlands is, I'll be a millionaire), I personally know of a few hidden spots where there might be a good photo taking opportunity. Places like Kranji, Lim Chu Kang and Sembawang have quite a good collection of scenic spots for photography enthusiasts.

That said, my knowledge only extends so far. So, using the power of the Internet, I was thinking maybe some of you may have any ideas as to where these little nooks and crannies of Singapore are.

Because, as some say, good things must share!

depending on how u define scenic, otherwise, an interesting place is the tuas west area by raffles marina.

take AYE all the way, turn left to raffles marina. and with it on your right, (on tuas west drive), this road is so wide and long (you cannot see the end of the road), it is unbelievable for singapore. go to the end, and u have an "interesting" place for yourself.

  • Manchester United's "promising" transfer window should be taken with a pinch of salt

Having followed this club for more than 20 years, I'm well aware that a promising transfer window does not directly equate to an improved season. Forwards Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, as well as Diego Leon, the young Paraguayan wing-back, have been Manchester United's signings for the 2025 summer transfer window so far. On paper, this team should have no problem challenging for silverware. On the pitch, the current crop of players finished 15th last season. While both Cunha and Mbeumo ha

Japan is weird. I love it (Part 9)

You know when you go to a mamak shop or Good Price and see those brightly coloured plastic toy 'instruments' that you would buy for kids to bang away on? Well, someone (Japanese, of course) had the idea to basically turn that into an actual musical instrument.  I present you: The Otamatone.  The Otamatone originated in Japan in 1998, thanks to the creative minds at CUBE Works and Maywa Denki. This playful music instrument boasts a quirky, note-inspired design that has captured the imag

Are forums outdated? I try to find out by asking AI

Is your boss asking you to explore and learn how to use AI to improve the quality and efficiency of your work? Yup, you aren't the only one in that boat.  Whilst exploring new AI tools, I figured: Why not use it to answer some burning questions that I have? This time, it was about whether forums are outdated. Yes, forums like this one that we are on. I remember how before social media became popular, and before apps like Carousell existed, forums were where I chatted with others t
